Leaves

I am sitting at my coloured pencil desk...
The skies today are in such a lovely tango...going from sunny and happy to dark grey and foreboding.
There is a sweet little black and white bunny sleeping at my feet...
eyes closed tight, nose twitching, front feet digging away in a deep deep dream.
A cup of green tea steeps beside me...
My favorite Toronto jazz station is on...
Soon my honey will be home...
we'll make a delicious dinner together as the buns start to wake up for our evening routine.
I just love days like this.

The barren trees are making me happy...
they signify that 'hibernation' time is almost upon us.
Coziness...
like a giant hug from a huge furry bear dressed in the softest angora sweater wrapping around us...
Soon it's time to rest up, be cozy all together in our sweet little home.
I don't have to worry about anything outside...
except for shoveling snow, bringing in fire wood, some skiing, walks on the lake with hot coca
and short brisk rabbit romps through snow tunnels.
AH
I really really do love days like this.

On My Desk

I admit I've been working on yard projects more than on artwork lately but summer is like that.
Especially this past week, it's been a yucky one for head pain so my usual concentration isn't there...
it's just been easier to float from one yard project to the other as the buns play about our beloved yard.
But I do have a few illustrations going...here's one of them.

I can already feel September quickly creeping up...
I am always acutely aware of it...like an anxious kid knowing school is going to start soon.
But with me, it's a mixture of anxiety to get yard projects wrapped up whiles also being a feeling of
gratitude to the cold & foul fall weather which forces me back inside to fuller days in the studio.

Yard Bliss, Clean Up & Happy Weekend

I think alot of people search and search endlessly for things and situations that make them happy.
Some of us are lucky in finding our bliss quickly and easily.
Being in the yard, working away, be it at yard work or artwork,
with rabbits running around happily around me
is without a doubt one of my purest and most blissful happy places to be...

...I am grateful...
so very grateful, for the times that I had with our Ella Bella & other furry kids out in our beloved yard
and for the current precious times I share out there now with my honey, Roo, Jin and Jaks.
I am pretty sure that this yard is going to be enjoyed by many more rabbits yet!

This weekend we'll be hopefully finishing up the rest of the yard work before winter storms in.

May you be feeling oh so blissfully grateful today too & enjoying your year end yard wrap up as well.
