More From Winter

Spring is here I know but I am so behind in posting photos from Winter!  I am always sad to say
goodbye to Winter because Summer brings so many more stresses with bring the buns outside.

Leisel is a difficult rabbit, always will be I think.  She went through alot before softly
landing here with us & that's okay, that's her, she's still magic to me, especially her fighting spirit.
I love bringing her outside the most I think because it's where she seems the most care-free.

The Night Garden In Progress

I was really hoping to get this lino-cut done this week and I am SO close to finishing
but because of my fibromyalgia sometimes my balance gets wonky
and I had a little tumble and in trying to break my fall, I hurt my wrist!

SO, I've got to let that heal up before I get back to any cutting
because printmaking is pretty hard on the hands and wrists.
I am so excited with how it's looking so far though and can not wait to do a test print.

Time For Daily Meds

We were so worried about the veterinarians office being closed during the pandemic
but they are still open for emergency needs atleast
and we had a phone call with the vet this morning that we are really happy with.
Now we know that even during the pandemic we can get the care and meds if need be.

Korra-Soleil has been fighting arthitic legs for awhile now.  She's a big rabbit & it's pretty common.
X-rays done some time ago verified the problem.
We give her foot massages & physio every night but we've all agreed that it's time
to start her on a daily pain regimen...wish us and her luck with it.

Pink Moon Almost Done

This one has so much detail, it's taking a really long time.

I am super excited to cut it out and get it on it's painted background.

Kindness is Key

It's so depressing on Instagram lately...
all I am seeing are animals being abandoned, like bunnies in parks because people can't be
bothered to feed them or care for them during the pandemic.
I am seeing videos of dogs being gathered up and being burned alive
because people fear catching the Corona virus from them...

I've been having to take a break here and there, especially last week during Easter
seeing all of the baby bunnies flooding into shelters, needing homes...ugh.  I can't take it sometimes.
If we can't be kind to all kinds, to the most vulnerable, to those with absolute innocence and
those who have absolutely no voice of their own then what the heck is even the point of it all???
Please take time to check in with people around you to see if they need help with their animals.

Something Wiccan Comes This Way

Just a little sneak peek at a new upcoming image...something wiccan comes this way...

It will be a colored pencil on Arches watercolour paper and I can't wait to get started.

Busy With Fizzy

Sorry for the absence you guys...we've been busy with the buns (here we are trimming Barnaby).
Leisel and Barnaby were both sick for almost a week and we needed time to recuperate from that!
Then I had a bad migraine for a week straight and a fibromyalgia flare up...ugh!

How are you all hanging in there?
We're doing well...managing to get our groceries so far through contactless red zone pick ups.
Both of our schedules haven't changed all that much since we both usually work from home.

Unfreezing

It's so bizarre to me that if your caught using a park right now you'll be ticketed!
We've been isolated for five weeks now only going out for essentials.

On our way home though from red zone grocery pick ups or the pharmacy
we sometimes stop quickly at the lake when no one else is around.

Making Him Laugh

I just discovered the free face app on my phone!
What can I say, we've been needing a laugh and this certainly gave us one.

What a thrill my heart gets
when I am the one who breaks that gorgeous smile out on that handsome face.

Unhappy Buns, Good & Bad Attitudes

A few months ago our water tank exploded.
This was like the third time!
I came downstairs to give the buns their breakfast and immediately
knew something was up because Misa and Higgins weren't there waiting for me.
A second later I noticed water all over floors, it squished up and out of the baseboards
as I ran to find the buns and I realized it was hot water...
the buns were in the theater up on the coffee table looking very upset & concerned.
We spent the whole morning with the shop vac, sucking up the water.
The whole entire water tank emptied!
Our laminate flooring is of course ruined.
Of course my sweet calm honey just said "Well, I've been wanting to replace this floor", ha ha!

It was a couple weeks of upset because it took awhile to get it fixed.
Washing out of a bowl of hot water for two weeks brought me back to being broke in college
so it was somehow sweetly cozy for the first little bit ha ha!
Every time a repair person would come over to look and give a quote etc,
I'd shuffle the buns upstairs so they weren't underfoot and that
interrupted their nap time and Misa isn't a happy camper when that happens.
Then the new tank they put in wasn't working properly,
I was freaking out because suddenly I couldn't take a hot bath,
the water would run cold after 2 minutes & my body relies heavily on baths to get through pain.
One of the guys actually stormed out of our house and left us high & dry
because we dared to call him back over and say it wasn't working properly!
but lucky a 2nd guy said right away that something wasn't right
and a new diptube was installed and we were back off to the races.
And I really appreciated the 2nd guy who said
"Oh no, a person with fibromyalgia definitely needs hot baths" ha ha.

A Good Stack

I sure am glad that during last Christmas we splurged and bought a whack of new two person games.

What are you guys doing to keep busy during quarantine?  Are you finding it easy or super hard??

Made With Love & Painted Green

Back before the winter our last big project was a new tv stand/shelf...
Jonathan made it all on his own.

I painted it a gorgeous leaf green and voila, it's pefect, I love it so much.
A piece of thick clear plastic fit in perfectly along the bottom two shelves to stop nibbly teeth.

Meltage

And we have open water on the lake, yayyy but I wonder when we'll be able to get in our kayaks...

It's illegal apparently right now to use public docks etc...did you ever think we'd see the day!

From Scatch With Love

Just before winter (bfore Jonathan got sick)
he made me this beautiful new work desk for my upstairs studio.  I LOVE it.

He said that my old one was bending in the middle from the weight of all the plants I had on it
and well Flynn sleeps underneath so he said 'you need a much safer one' & here it is made with love.

Winter Wind Down

The buns didn't have a great winter this past season because of everything
that was going on with my honey, where there were so many unexpected rush visits to the ER,
I found myself too nervous to be bringing the buns out just in case we had to suddenly rush
to the hospital!  and not single one of the 9 are easy to get back inside,
you can beg & plead & try to convince but pretty much have to be patient & wait for them to tire out!

When they did get outside though they sure did have a blast.
Misa & Higgins have the most fun I think.
Because of the surgeries I was on my own alot with the shovelling so I am pretty proud of getting it all done on my own and so grateful for the times my Dad dragged his snowblower over too.
Things are melting pretty fast now...they are excited for Spring & for their sake, so am I.
