Peace & Pain

Sorry for disappearing there for a few days!  Posts may be a smidge sporadic this week, we'll see.
Head pain has been really bad.
I had a great two week run with next to nothing but the last 5 days have been really rough.

So time in the studios is being spent as well as it can possibly be spent!
The rest of the time I've mostly been snuggling it up with the buns...
cause for me, when I am dealing with this much pain, not much else is more soothing.

Art Cards

Did you guys know that my Art Cards have begun to hit the shop?

They are all hand-cut, hand-folded and handmade by yours truly in my sweet rabbit filled studio.

They are also:
Archival
blank inside leaving lots of room to write
printed on velvety smooth heavy weight bright white paper
a lovely 5 x 7 which is perfect for easy framing
and each one comes with a really cool translucent envelope.

These four designs are already available.

Because if your a lover of this dear blog of mine,
than your likely to not want to just send any old mass produced run of the mill greeting card...
You'll want to send a handmade with heart art card
one which can be framed and enjoyed by yourself and/or your loved ones for years to come.

Dangerously Close To Spontaneious Combustion

It was feeling like the pressure of all the recent rabbit stress etc was building and building.
I might have been getting dangerously close to spontaneous combustion in fact! ha ha!!
So an impromptu trip to the city was exactly what I needed apparently.
Even if it was a long 4 hours there & 5 hours back all in one day cause we don't have a bunny-sitter!

A few precious hours with my beautiful best friend Judit
(carpet & wall paper designer extraordinaire)
whom I haven't seen for over a year and who I have been missing desperately was muchly needed.
It was also a day too to celebrate my sweet hard-working honey
who was beckoned to the city to be honored and recognized for a wonderful achievement in his work.

Ahh the city, a change of scenery & best friends to enjoy it all with...than getting back home....lovely.

Just 1 More For A Bit I Think

I am going to finish this rabbit inkling up & than I'll get back to some colour work for a bit, I think.
It's been a nice long 'break' working with black & white and I'll no doubt come back around to it...

but for awhile now I've had this buzzing happening in my body...
It's a buzz that's fluttering around constantly wanting some paper doll, watercolours & stitchery play!

Still Frozen

We are so anxious to get into our kayaks...
so this weekend we went to check out how the ice is coming along on the lake nearest to us.
There is still quite a ways to go yet however.
We were joking that we might just be desperate enough to put our boats on the ice and
inch our way along with our ski poles perhaps, ha ha.
Or launch them in that tiny bit of open water to just float there for a couple hours, ha ha.
Ah but that second option with hot cocoa and a book would indeed be quite nice I think!

Because of a very scary and very close call on the ice from my childhood
I have a rather strong fear of being on any frozen lake.
When I hear the inevitable cracking sound my whole body freezes...
but every year I venture out anyways to beat my fears slowly but surely.
Plus, there is something so centering about being on an ice shelf under a hot glaring sun...
Everything is quiet, except the gulls and the you can hear a constant 'drip, drip, drip'.
The ice is velvety smooth under the touch but still of course burning cold.
Ice crackles around you like pop-rock candy...
Lovely.

Starry Starry Night

It's a starry starry night...
with a rabbit of course.
I have to see if I can get this image on a starker whiter background...I am not crazy about the cream.

I'll let you know when prints hit the shop.
P.S.  I'll be having a SALE for all my Etsy Customers soon, so if that's you,
keep your eyes open for an email giving all the details.

Bad Luck Bunnies

We were really hoping for a restful stressfree weekend however our bad luck run continues...
This AM Teela stopped eating.
We think she's suffering from stasis.
Send some good luck please!

Post Note:
Well most of the weekend ended up being lovely and we did get some rest in after all
because whiles Teela did indeed have gas and mild stasis, after pineapple/critical care feedings,
tummy massages, forced movement and all the other tricks we've learnt, she was past it in 10 hours.

Good Treats and Indulgent Reads

It's been a stressful few weeks with the buns.
Jaks got a big infection over his whole belly than the skin dried severely, cracked like crazy & bled.
That meant more antibiotic rounds, etc, than my back completely went out...We're feeling tired!
So this afternoon after Jaks gets his stitches out, finally after 3 weeks poor guy,
I am going to take a bit of time today to
indulge in good treats & an indulgent read.
(especially since all my tax preparations went super smoothly yesterday)

I consider myself a good reader.  I read a rather wide range of books.
I read several books at a time with no troubles in keeping stories & tones straight.
I will diligently force myself through a crappy book in hopes to find some redeeming quality!
I actually think Shakespeare is quite enjoyable...(but you know my favorite is Alice Hoffman)
but now and then
a gals just gotta indulge in something super light & sweet...
like a Tinkerbell story...of which, yes, I have a few, ha ha!

Have a lovely day all.  XO

Bump Bump Bump Under My Bum Bum Bum

So did I tell you the couch story yet?  I don't think I have.

So I am sitting there late one evening.  My honey and I were watching something on television.
I was contentedly relaxed, reached for my steaming hot coffee, took a deep inhale, a long sweet sip...
Ahhhh....indeed, home with my hon and buns, what a lovely relaxing evening we were having.

UNTIL
Bump Bump Bump under my Bum bum bum!

"What the hell" I suddenly said to Jonathan
"why am I feeling a knocking under my tush?"

Well okay, wait, you need some background on this...

Years ago we blocked off the underneath's of the couches, because little bunnies were just going
under there to pee and poo and it was a nightmare to clean so we were clever and blocked it all off, ALL except for 1 little pathway which craftily lead to a ramp which went up to the window.
They loved this...we all loved it.
They would go through their tunnel, scoot up the ramp and
lounge in the window for hours just looking & basking in sunlight and breezes
(we lounged about basking in delight to just gaze down at our happy adorable babies in the window)
Okay, so no problem...the tunnel and ramp were manageable to clean, the buns loved it and so it was.

Yet at some point unknown to us clever humans!
and for whatever bunny reasoning Teela, Yuuji and Flynn
decided that the awesome tunnel & window ramp were suddenly not awesome enough...
OH NO SIR!
apparently they wanted and needed MORE awesomeness.
SO
they decided to dig and burrow their way INTO the couch!
Like a Shawshank scenario...when we weren't looking or listening!

That bump bump bump on my bum was a bunny INSIDE the couch!!!

Needless to say, our peaceful evening was shattered and the tricky business of getting said bunnies OUT from inside the couch was than pursued!!
Now it's all sadly been blocked off, until we get a clever new ideal on how to rectify the situation.

(I have the most awesome honey who ended up laughing it off and saying
'well it was getting time for new couches anyways').

So see....
whilst the buns are unquestionably insanely sweet & awesome...they are also destructive & naughty!
If your not prepared for some home turf damage...don't bring a house bunny into your life
(because it's cruel to keep them in cages all of the time if caging is a route you find you must take).
Bunnies dig and chew and rip things apart...it's just what they do.  It's just a rabbit being a rabbit.
Much of the time they are good as gold...
but my mantra of 'a bored bunny is a destructive bunny' holds true!

And this has been a truthful and unpaid message
brought to you by a responsible bunny mama/blogger
who knows she very well tempts many people into wanting bunnies.

Make Sure Yours Is Chocalate

Easter is here.
We hate Easter.
Every year thousands of rabbits are given as presents.
And every year the shelters are flooded soon afterwards.
Don't make another precious rabbit another unwanted statistic.

Help to spread a message of intelligence & kindness and
Make Sure Your Easter Bunny Is Of The Chocolate Variety.
