A New Family Member...

I've been absent from my posts because I've been busy with a new little family member...he came to us very sick and he's still not 100% but we're hoping to get him on the mend soon...He does not have the happiest of stories and the poor little guy has alot of adjustments to make but we hope he'll get used to us and his new home and soon realize that we're not going to give him up, that we'll love him and take care of him like no other and that ultimately he can relax because he's finally found his permanant home. And I am forever grateful to the local vet and the wonderful ladies, Wendy and Stacey who rescued him first from a bad home and being put to sleep for no other reason than the previous owners being tired of him! Long story short, they gave Jaks a good home and treated him very well until it came to everyones attention that he needed to be in a less stressful environment...which luckily to everyones agreement ended up being our little rabbit warren:D This is Little Jaks...
Oh he's sweet as pie...and yes I admit upsetting the normal equilibrium of the house abit, but that's normal when bringing a new furry heart into the circle, I must remember this...We feel that it's meant to be that he joined us and we have to take deep breathes and not expect everything to be perfect right away...like Hazel and Jinny fighting over him! Of all the rabbits we've lived with and cared for, you'd think we'd be used to everything by now but new little things are always popping up, old things resurface for relearning and ultimately it's a quest to instill love, light and happiness where they were perhaps not in plentiful amounts before. In the end everything usually does work out beautifully (knock on wood).
Anyhow...we must get him eating normally and pooping abit more wish us luck and energy...as I write this I can hear the little guy running around the living room upstairs, he has lots of energy today which is a good sign.
...and welcome home little one, welcome home...

Oh my goodness! How cute is that! :-) I love the third picture where he's sitting with his ears hanging. :-)

First, I forgot to congratulate you on your beautiful art space! So lovely!

And welcome home to Little Jaks. He's as adorable as they come.

I remember the days of fostering and adopting my babies and the adjustments of getting their little systems regular and adapting to their new siblings. Eventually we all settle into a happy little pattern. Sigh...I miss having a whole "fuzzybunch" swirling around me when I come home. It's just one little Maltese right now...but, I think that's enough for me to handle in my new environment.

Welcome home, sweet Little Jaks! And smooches to Jin and Haz.
