Thoughts of Hay

When your a rabbit slave, you have to keep on top of having quality hay for your monsters.

When the 4 new adoptees came home we had to rearrange our downstairs pantry
because we used to buy our hay products like this,

in nicely sized manageable bags that fit in one small closet....

 

 

But because the newest additions are such hay monsters (which is truly great)...

 

  

We now also have to invest in hay like this...

 

 

In 50 pound boxes!

50 pounds of Timothy hay, 50 pounds of Grass Hay

and 50 pounds of hay blocks which help keep little wall-munchers busy (some of the time!).

(We are trying to source out a local supplier but so far have had no luck...due to a hay shortage!)

 

But ya know, at the end of the day,  I'd rather have nothing else taking up space in my basement...

Okay, well except for maybe more bunnies!

Sevanne

A new little feathered friend wants to say Good Evening.

Everyone meet...

 

"Sevanne"

 

She can not stay for a long chat however because she's late for her afternoon beauty nap,

Then there is still linens to be brought in from the clothes line and well it is about to thunder and pour

and she must not forget her apple peach pie just about cooled to perfection on the windowsill...

she plans to serve it with rhubarb tea when her dear knitting club comes over later on this evening.

 

 

She is done in coloured pencil and acrylic paint on a wood canvas measuring only 5 x 7"

I finished her up today whiles my sweet girl Teela napped away in the grass

& a black bird kept swooping at my head.  I was not impressed!

The darn thing built her nest in one of the busiest section of our yard!

Despite that, it was a lovely afternoon

(minus apple peach pie & rhubarb tea unfortunately!)

until the nasty mosquitoes drove us back into the house.

A TINY break...Back REALLY Soon

Hi ya.

 

We've taken an unexpected & impromptu little break around here.

This cold & super wet week seemed to be the perfect time to do nothing but be cozy all together,

and well we just needed abit of recharging...

 

 

So we're watching loads of movies, taking lots of delicious naps, eating lots of scrumptious food...

Spending oodles of time snuggling six bunnies.  It's been good...ahhhhhhh.

 

I'll be back in my studio & to blogging next week.

Baby Yuuji & Weekend Plans

Just hopping in with some favorite baby shots of our sweetheart Yuuji...

For what's a better way to wish you all a happy weekend than with sweet rabbit goodness, ha ha!

 

 

We are going to be busy in the yard with rabbits romping & gardening this weekend...

I am ready to get my fingers all muddy & green and

to stay outside until hardwork, beautiful garden beds and the fresh spring air exhausts me, ha ha.

A Syrup Festival Day

When you live in a small city, you have to make your own fun...

 

So we recently spent a beautiful afternoon with a dear friend, at a local Maple Syrup Festival.

 

Where there were gorgeous old cars to drool over...

 

 

...and some highland game fun happening, like the caber toss...

 

 ...where there was mechanical bull-riding...

 

 

...and an entertaining comedic show put on by lumberjacks...

 

 

And at the end of that day...

It was the perfect time to let a couple bunnies out to enjoy the yard...

 

(I know it's blurry but look at the precious fun she is having...look at that curled up ear, awww)

 

  

...and to cozy up in soft cozy blankets in the lawn and take abit of a rest

alongside your best friends whiles those precious bunnies romp (& the advil kicks in!)... 



...We usually don't have a hard time finding a good time

& enjoying a beautiful day...ha ha.
and I just had to share these photos & the day because that's exactly why I blog...
to share my joys & love & for witness to awesome days like this one was.

Pillerun Pritt

Say Hello to my newest little creation,

A feathered top hatted sweetheart named 

Pillerun Pritt

If he looks just slightly anxious it's because he is on his way to a grand outdoor ball,

where the night will be scented with jasmine &

the stars will be winking down on him by the millions.
This ball is be thrown around the local and elegant bandstand in the center of town,

and it's where he is suppose to meet a pretty little robin for a blind date...

he can't decide between a bouquet of pink and yellow roses or red and purple pansies...

poor little guy is sooo nervous, but his stunning green top hat gives him much needed confidence...

The bird itself is done in coloured pencil and then that is mounted to a painted acrylic canvas

whiles he sits on top of strip of bright orange ribbon. 
It has been sealed several times & has a lovely gloss to it.
It is ready to be shipped & is ready to hang.  It measures 8 x 10"
 

Which do you think he should choose?  The roses or the pansies?

Critter Creations

Besides basking in the glorious weather outside & going seed crazy in my new little greenhouses,

Besides a pretty constant headache to tend to since last Thursday

and a molar falling apart and exiting my mouth in the middle of the night & having that mended!

 

I've been working on a new series that has me all giddy & smiley...

 

 

They are the cutest little critters I've drawn so far I think & I just have to show you the sketches.

 

They are going to be small, just 5 x 7" and I can't wait to start colouring them in.

 

 I've been showing them on Twitter all week...

I don't think I am quite done sketching either, so there's probably more to come,

I am having such a ball with them.

 

 

I always show the 6 buns what their mama is working on, ha ha...

 

They said that they approve of this new series, especially of the rabbit ones,

they are demanding another whole page of rabbit characters...

and I think I will happily comply.
