Beautiful Buns In The Sun

Here are the photos of Ella Luna and Roo I've been anxious to show.  I just love how the sunlight & shadows are playing around my soft sleeping babies...

These two are so so adorable together, just two peas in a pod...they compliment each others personalities like no other bun couple we've ever had...and to think that at one point our only bun was a singular Ella Luna, for a whole year at least...when these two first met, they snuck off into the closet together, ha ha.  My heart flips, in a bad way, every time I think of one without the other, part of me dreads that every single minute of every day.

I was told recently that having children is the most important thing a woman can do in her life & that my interest & love for animals is 'good and all' but that it doesn't begin to touch on the importance of raising your own kids....I run into this opinion more often than one would think & it's maddening & annoying, but I won't get into my usual rant, ha ha.  We all have different paths, truths & priorities (some kinder than others).  Maybe for this woman, kids are the end all and be all but for me....

....Happiness, bliss & a better world is found in beautifully nurtured, well fed, sun basking bunnies....

See you Sunday.

XO Mandy, Ella-Luna & Roo, Jinny & Apple-Jaks XO

Beautiful shots of the foo-foos!

People are very myopic (if you disagree, you prove my assertion...wink). When some people say "raising children is the most important thing a woman can do", they need to realize that it will only ever be the most important thing to them. It is normal for people to project their own focus on others (children, religion etc...), but there is no universal truth, merely different points of view (the only truth is there is no truth).

My opinion on reproduction is that hopefully at some point very soon the human race's now prehistoric base instinct for propagation, and the modern social\cultural pressures to be a parent, will fall in line with the reality of the dwindling resources our planet has for all of us...

couldn't agree with you more Mandy!
I just always come out with the line 'the world is already over populated and is carrying too many humans to sustain all of them'
(that's my rant :)
and buns in sun are the best!

ps would you like to host Ms Rabbit on her travels at all?
just etsy convo me

Great comments you guys, thanks.

I know, I get especially upset with the people who go on about loving the earth and our environment yet they pop out kids....I know you can't let that stop you if you really really want children, but people generally don't think. It's been proven time and time again that the #1 cause of our earth decline is 1)Over Population 2)Methne from Cows that everyone must eat (and let's face it the amount of people raising vegetarian children is not common) and 3)Cars & their production.

So when people get on my case about not wanting children I get very upset and always think, there's enough people having kids, it's up to some people like me to reserve our energy for the animals.

Yes Annette, I would love to host Ms.Bunny, I think I already signed up on your blog but I will convo you later this evening about it:D

XO.

Hi Mandy,
I also don't have children and have been the target of some very unpleasant remarks.
I agree, we are all on very different paths and this world is so overpopulated. UGH, this subject makes me mad. LOL
I am in love with your paintings.
You have a very special touch.
Hugs
Diana

Love the ears in your photos. They are quite a pair of sweethearts.

Having both kids and rabbits, I would have to say that if I could only rescue 2 from a burning building, it would have to be my kids, but leaving the rabbits would haunt me for the rest of my life.

As for the choice of having kids or not, I would say that's personal, and no one's business but your own.

Perhaps the important thing in being human is having the capacity to love. And you have one of the biggest hearts of anyone I have come to know. Raspberries to anyone who says otherwise!

They look like such little snugglebunnies :) I especially love how the sun catches the contrast in Ella Luna's coat. It's lovely.

I could not agree with you more when it comes to reproduction being our purpose in life. Sometimes I want to say to these people, "well, since you and your spouse have already replaced yourselves, +2, there are no resources left for my would-be children."

To be honest with you, I also don't like kids much. Give me a grumpy aloof bunny or kitty or dog or lizard or bird over a sniveling child any day. I understand that women are supposed to have some kind of maternal thing going on, I don't. I don't think that makes me a bad person, either. I don't ask you to clean up stray doots from my rabbits. Don't ask me to change your kid's diaper or wipe his nose.

I recently learned that in Chinese Astrology, anything you care for or are responsible for is considered to be your children. I can't agree more. There are many things in the world to love and care for. Bunnies just happen to be extra special. ;)

Dear Shell, your comments always mean the world my dear kindred rabbit mama:D

Lisa, I so love and admire your honesty here with your comment. I was not going to post what this woman said to me, but it is a bee in my bonnet....I like to say Just because my body can make babies, doesn't mean I am obligated to have them...and it makes me no less of a woman or a nurturer indeed...thanks for the backup and for your story:D Sending you a giant hug. XO.

Dear Karen, I know your a great bunny mama...and of course you'd save your 2 human children, of course you would:D Ginny and Weasley are lucky to have you....there are a few amazing people out there just like you, who have kids AND who lovingly have pets as well and thank goodness for that...I just wish I saw it more often...and that more people had your open mindness. Hugs to you as well dear blogger and bunny mama:D XO.
