Locks Of Love

So last week I chopped off my long hair...

Into this cool shorter do (I've not had short hair for years & I am so loving it)...

Than I donated/sent my cut off locks to  'Locks Of Love', which is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss, such as those suffering through cancer treatment.

If your interested in donating hair, just click right here & check out the details.  It's easy peasy & will make ya feel warm & fuzzy.

I did the same thing on Friday! I hadn't had short hair for many many years, and ended up donating over 12" of hair! Your hair looks great, btw:)

I am so envious.

I have always wanted to do this but never can seem to work up the nerve.

But, if I ever do, I will also donate mine to Locks of Love.

Love it that you did this!

The haircut looks great!

I have donated my hair to LOL four times in about 6 years. (It grows like a weed). The last time I got my hair cut was last April. The hair was in a bag in my room waiting to be mailed out to Locks of Love, but then I heard about Matter of Trust's Hair for Oil campaign, and how human hair was a particularly effective, eco-friendly way of absorbing oil. So I sent it to them. They put the hair into donated stockings and either use it to go out into the gulf, or in the crates with the animals that they were trying to clean off. Just by having them sit on these boons, they were able to get some of the oil off of the seagulls, etc.!

Anyway, Locks of Love is a great charity, and I'm glad you shared with them! I've always felt like when you do something useful with that hair that you've become so attached to, it makes it easier to part with.

You look so fantastic...and for such a great cause!!! My daughters know several girls who have done this. Maybe they will one day decide to do it, too. Thanks for the inspiration! And thanks for visiting my blog as well.
