Last Years Book Pile

So it was a pretty good reading year in 2018 (26 books read).

These 3 I L-O-V-E-D (All Alice Hoffman's so of course!)

The following books I thought were really great...

The next are ones that were good but they are just shy of being 'great' in my opinion...

These next ones I unfortunately have to give a 'just okay' stamp, I just couldn't get into them...

and unfortunately these ones I can't recommend at all because well, I really didn't like them at all...

I hope this helps you find some good reads this new year...I will always recommend Alice Hoffman!
If you have read some of them let me know...nothing is like a good delicious book XO.

2017 Book Pile

I completely forgot, again, to do my yearly book pile post.

The following 5 are ones that I loved so so much, that I am keeping on my bookshelf,
that I couldn't put down & which I would highly recommend giving a try...

The following 3 were really great too, just a step down for this reason or that
from me super loving them but I still would recommend that you check them out...
(yes that is my poor honey in the hospital bed in that photo!)

The following 3 were in my opinion good but ones I can't put on my great or best piles...
(and yes I know, one of them is Alice Hoffman, my all-time favorite, but I've got to be honest!)

The following 2 I truthfully kinda felt like I was wasting my reading time with but I am sure some
out there might find redeeming qualities, I just for whatever reason in the moment couldn't...

And these 4 books, sadly, I just couldn't recommend, these 4 I had to push myself to get through...
that's just my humble opinion, I can be pretty hard on books, sometimes it's just the flow of writing
that throws me off from enjoying it, sometimes it's just too much detail that feels useless,
you might want to give them a try, I think any book is worth a try, but these ones I just didn't enjoy.

17 books read...not a stellar reading year that's for sure!
I try to average 2 books atleast a month but it was a hard headpain year
and a very hard year for loosing buns & dealing with sick buns etc.
Let's hope 2018 is stellar and that I find way more to recommend to you.
Thanks so much for hopping in and as always don't forget to check us on on Instagram.

The Book Pile

Forgive my absence last week, I was suppose to be back to blogging as normal
but a super bad 3+ day long migraine kept me away from any semblance or a normal routine!

Today I wanted to share my 2015 book pile with you all...
it wasn't a stellar reading year but what can you do, life gets in the way sometimes doesn't it, ha ha!

These 4 I absolutely loved.
Alice Hoffman continues to be my favorite author with Sarah Addison Allen a close 2nd.

Though these 6 don't quite make me favorites pile, they were really good...

and these 4 I didn't care for so much, a couple of them felt like a real chore to get though in fact!
I am sure other people might love them but I did not.  To each their own opinion and all that jazz!

Did you read any spectacular books that you would recommend??
As always, feel free to do your own book pile post and share the link in the comments below.

Well I am off to more studio tidying and than an afternoon with watercolours.
As soon as it's sunny, I'll be able to take some photos and show you my latest work.
See you soon XO

The Book Pile

It's that time again.
Time to share my book pile from last year.
It's a bit on the small side again but that's because I was quite addicted and busy with back issues of
my favorite magazines such as Artful Blogger, Coloured Pencil Magazine & Art Doll Quarterly.

There was sadly only one book that I absolutely loved and is now on my 'favorites' shelf.

These two aren't favorites but I thought they were quite good.

All of these ones were just so so in my humble opinion...

and these 3 I really didn't like at all.

I hope this year my book pile is twice the size
and I hope that the titles in the 'great' section are twice as well!
(check out last years pile right here if your interested in my reading habits)

What was your favorite read of 2014 may I ask???
