Spring Waltz
Hey guys, sorry to be absent again, I've been sooooo sick
and I am still sick so I'll just pop in quickly with a new image I've been anxious to show you...
"Spring Waltz"
I am really happy with it
and I can't wait to offer it to you not only in print form but on t-shirts & bags etc really soon
(I hope!)
But first, back to my doctor ordered bedrest!
I'll hopefully be back in the swing of things next week
Hope your all feeling way better than I have been!
XOXO

Kind & Pretty Scents
Beautiful scents make me happy
and I am pretty lucky in that my head pain isn't instigated too often by smells...only once in awhile.
(Well one smell gets me, cigarette smoke, it's a bad trigger, that is an instant puke/migraine scenario)
(Well one smell gets me, cigarette smoke, it's a bad trigger, that is an instant puke/migraine scenario)
So I love to smell good and pretty but I need delicate scents that aren't overpowering
because my honey has asthma and the bunnies have sensitive noses...
My favorite go to brand of perfumes, as you can clearly see is Pacifica...
they smell amazing, my hon and buns never seem aggravated by any of them &
most of all they are vegan and beautifully not tested on animals.

Shimmering Rabbity Sweetness
This has been what my desk upstairs looks like, full of little beauties getting their finishing touches.
I love this part...applying varnishes, clean edges, titling, adding sparkles, attaching hangers etc.
As I was telling you in one of my last posts, I work all over the house to get work done whiles I
spend time with all of our 9 rescue buns so I work on quite a few pieces all at the same time...
For a spell it seems like I am getting nothing new done and than all of the sudden bam a whack
are finished and lovely and whimsical and shimmering with good happy rabbity mojo, ha ha!

The Amazing Jelly-Bean
I am amazed at the tenacity of our Jaks aka Jelly-Bean.
Last summer I felt so melancholy whenever I was outside with him,
assuming that it would be his last summer with us...
but he's still here this summer...I am so so grateful and amazed at his luck and strength.
We've been expecting him to pass any day now for the 2+ years
ever since his congestive heart failure diagnosis.
Since than we've said goodbye to our fabulous Frenwyck, my sunshine Teela & our elegant Elsie.
It goes to show that you never ever know how life is going to turn out & to never count anyone out!

Pug Love
As I've been mentioning very briefly, my 15 year old niece has been living with us for the past
8+ weeks....and well it was her birthday not long ago and she's crazy for pugs so I made her this...
I did it in coloured pencil with a smidgen of micron pen on paper and than all that was put
on an acrylic painted cradled canvas. It's a tiny 4 x 4" but she really seemed to love it.

Winterscapes
We had a deliciously long wintery long weekend...Did you?
We spent a large part of it outside in the snow and ice with amazing winterscapes, sunsets & bunnies.
The sound of wind racing over ice & snow machines racing over snow was our daytime soundtrack.
I am feeling somewhat refreshed and anxious for a long full week in the studio, how about you?

I've Been Thinking About Interviews
So I have for quite some time been thinking on how I can reach new kindred spirits & connect?
But not just to connect but share the beauty of that connection too, so therefore,
how could I use my blog to do so?
For about two years now I've been intrigued
by the idea of interviewing people on this beloved spot of mine.
But not just anyone...
Artists but even more specifically tenacious artists, like me, who create with chronic pain.
And artists or non-artists who love animals and make their lives & families around them.
Do you think it sounds good?
I'd like to begin soon because enough is enough...I shouldn't procrastinate on it any longer.
Connection is a thing of beauty and is sadly becoming rarer as the world gets meaner.
I know I am definitely not the only migraine/headache suffering artist out there
nor by far the only one obsessed, devoted, fulfilled and in love with a life revolving around animals.
I want to find more of these fellow souls and I want you to meet them too.
So let me ask you, do you know any people who fits either or both of these descriptions???
Email me at Whimsy@MandySaile.com
and let me know or maybe you have a great idea of where I can find such people
and maybe I'll connect with them & than maybe you'll see them here.
Yayyyy!

Winter Wonderment
It's really hard not to love winter when it looks something like this!
You'll often find us racing to the frozen lake by our house around 4:30 at this time of the year
because the sunsets are often just so spectacular
and the beauty of them really helps to put all the little niggling worries into perspective!

My Muse Misa
All of the rabbits who have blessed my life have been my inspirations for much of what I do
in each of their very own special and different ways...every single ones is unique & inspiring
but there's been 1 so far who I would have called a 'Muse', my little guy named Hobbs...
( unfortunately, I never really blogged about him because he was way before my blogging days)
Long story short...
I found him in my backyard with a severely broken leg, infested with mites, 2 inch long nails.
We had our hands full already, just two weeks before we had rescued 3 rabbits from a farm
and we already had a house full on top of them
but when my honey rushed home, to see who I had just found in the yard,
I was holding him rocking him in my arms in the bathroom
and the first thing out of his mouth was 'What are we going to name this one..."
because there was no question, this bun was extra extra special, he had an energy of peace about him.
Sadly, he was with us for only 8 short months before he died in my arms of heart failure.
But every single day that he was with me, I felt like working like mad, there was something extra extraordinary about his spirit and it for whatever magical reason made me want to create...
This newest little family member...
my little Misa...
She is feeling like my Hobbs...
Maybe she's going to be my next muse.
I notice a rise in my desire to create since she's been around.
I don't know if it's because she has so many of my Teela's traits
that part of my feels like I have my best friend back...I am sure that's part of it.
But I do know it's due largely to her just having a brightness and lightness in spirit like Hobbs did.
She has this pure joy about her.
I find myself constantly whirling around all of the other buns like normal and now more than ever...
I am these days, feeling more grateful for them and more patient with them than every before.
But with my Misa,
I gravitate towards her more than anybun else and when I am with her I just want to work.
I am feeling grateful for the pull again to my work because it's been a bit hazy to be honest.
I am feeling grateful more than ever for this life I share with rabbits...
and I am feeling extra extra grateful for this newest shining light...
Miss Misa my muse?
I am loving her so.

Groundhog Grateful
I will probably be hissed at for saying so ha ha
but I am glad the groundhog saw his shadow!
I am glad we're expecting 6 more weeks of Winter!
I love the quietness of winter, longer studio days inside, the beauty of freshly fallen snow,
the coziness of dark at dinner time with lite candles...
I am not ready for Spring yet...I want Winter to stay awhile longer yet!
