Teela In The Garden Watercolour

I finally finished the watercolour version of

"Teela In The Garden"

I am not sure if I'll be putting her on products or listing it for sale yet etc...

We face another surgery, a 4th resection next week, bear with me in my blog absences!

Shipping During Covid19

So I have made the decision that as much as I LOVE packaging & shipping everything off
in a very timely manner, because of Covid19 & my partner being seriously immune-compromised
I will unfortunately only be braving/chancing the post office 1 day a month and that's it.
From my own website/IG/Blog etc, I will be shipping everything out
on the 15th of every month instead of my the usual weekly shipping.

To make up for it taking a little longer to get your purchases,
I will be including extra surprise treats in all of your orders, yayyy.
I know most of you understand and I am so appreciative of you & all of your orders,
each and everyone truly means so much to me and the buns.  Thank you XO.
(If you want, you can shop in my new Society6 shop & everything there is mailed out in 3-5 days).

Sweet Sir Frogget

Oh my dapper Sir Frances Frogget convinced me to give him a quick kiss...

He's whispering sweet nothings into my ear and has quite the silly story to share.

Beady Plans

Higgins and I treated ourselves to some new beads not so long ago...
I have a whole new line of products brewing away in my mind featuring my illustrations.

We're pretty excited about what we plan with them but alas we have to wait for quarantine
to be over to be able to get to the store for the rest of our supplies!  Sigh!!

Ah A Favorite Place

Ah studio time...now matter how long I've been an artist, no matter how much or hard I work...

The days I get to be among my plants & colours is always one of my favorite places to be.

Filling In Lines With Misa

I have to use a chemical transfer to get my images from the paper to my linoleum
and I do have to do so because of how very detailed my designs are...
Sometimes it works really well, sometimes only parts transfer or they do but very faintly.

But I don't mind when I have to fill bits in because I grab a stack of linos in the pipeline,
I grab my Sharpie, a snack and I sit with my girl Misa downstairs and we re-line everything.
If life is about being in your happy place as much as possible, this is certainly one of them.

Getting Back To It...I Hope!

Sorry for that sudden long absence you guys...it's been a rough go.  I was diagnosed with another chronic invisible illness and about a week after that my honey hurt himself and he almost died...

But I think things are calming down, I've missed this blog of mine.  Give me a chance to catch up
and I'll let you all know briefly what's been going on.  Thanks everyone for your patience XO.

Rabbit Distractions

A little closer to the end now...I can not wait to do a test run of this beauty...

Misa thinks she helps to keep me on track but her cuteness is the ultimate distraction!!

Tee-Tee I Miss You

This one was inspired by my girl Teela, who I miss deeply, every single day.

Artist Making Art Cards

Making sure I pound the water (for my chronic migraines) whiles I work away on a big card order...

I absolutely LOVE making my handmade art cards, they are work but I really really just love it.

Rainbow Rabbit

What do you think of my rainbow rabbit so far?

I have some pretty cool ideals for this image, I hope I can pull them off!

No Mouth...What!?

Here's something new on my upstairs desk...
and yep, your seeing correct, she's not going to have a mouth.

I am doing this beauty in polychromos on stonehenge.
I am still learning which mixes I like best, the polys on this paper feels like more work but I like it!

Sketchbook Peek

Just a little peek into one of my sketchbooks...

Some pieces are fully rendered now whiles other linears wait somewhat patiently.

Pencil On Watercolour Paper

I really fell in love with using my beloved colored pencils on really textured watercolor paper.
I feel like the colors are so deep and I can layer like crazy, especially with the Prismacolor.
Sometimes I drag my heels on images because I am multi-passionate & can't decide on a medium.

but now and then an image just scream on out
"I want to be done in watercolor...I want to be a lino cut...I want to be ink pen on board"
I love it when that happens and I try not to ignore the instinct.

Ink to Lino

Have I shown this ink drawing of mine to you guys yet?

I think it's going to be one super fun image to redo in linocut, I can't wait.

David F. Carlin

I have already shown you guys this painting we bought from Dave Carlin a couple years back.
I am still in love with it.  Every time I pass it I see something new.
Whiles I have a good collection of his lino cuts, it was on my bucket list to buy one of Dave's
large original paintings and this was the one I was waiting for.  I am so proud to have it in our home.

David is a Canadian artist who shows his work extensively & internationally, everyone who knows him loves and admires him and his work ethic.  He was my high school art teacher & now a dear friend & I am so excited that he finally finally has a website, so everyone check it out right here
to see one of Canada's awesome artistic talents yayyy.

Studio Break

It's been a long heatwave...summers are just getting wetter and way hotter we find.
It's hard on the buns to be stuck inside so much, especially when they know it's summer out
but even if it wasn't too hot the mosquitoes are just too bad & now of course it's shad fly season!

I am just super duper grateful that we have AC now & can keep everyone cool and nice long
days inside in my studio (currently tidying & reorganizing) feeling cool as a cucumber
is feeling very nice too, the outdoor chores aren't going anywhere after all!

Respect For Earth

I was so happy to be asked to join an awesome group of artists for this group exhibition in May.

I am not sure which pieces I will show quite yet but I am really looking forward to it.

(correction:  The exhibition will actually be running until mid-June)
