My gorgeous and amazing guy turns 40 today...

we've been together in life longer than we've lived our lives apart, I love that so much.
I can't even begin to tell you all how honored & amazed I am that I get this guy as my partner.

Boxes & A Happy Weekend

When you have house rabbits, you will very likely also have a house full of boxes!

Boxes of various sizes & in different configurations keep bunnies busy

because goodness knows a bored bunny is a destructive bunny!

Happy Birthday to my MOM

My mom is awesome.

 

She's sweet and giving, she's funny and caring, she is super duper tough.

She taught me that 'patience is a virtue' and to find joy in the simple things in your life.

 

She is an amazing cook and baker...she always smells really good...she wears really cool clothes.

She loves reading and movies and music

and I think in her next life she just may be a private eye detective, ha ha.

 

 

...She is so many things to me and I simply can't imagine having any other mom.

 

Today is her 62nd birthday,

isn't she looking great (she says it's really good face cream) ha ha.

It's my Munchkin's 10th Birthday...

She is speacil, she is loved and she is one super duper cool kid...

Movie Magic

The other weekend Jonathan, my niece and myself headed out to the forest.
We initially just went to take a really good hike & to enjoy the fresh forest and waterfalls,

But. Jonathan and Karly decided that they needed to make a movie...ha ha.

Jonathan was the director, Karly was the star and I apparently was the
behind-the scenes photographer, prop master, assistant to the star & safety supervisor.

I just had to share my favourite shots from the day

The story they conjured up had something to do with a little girl lost in the woods,

who was being chased by some kind of bear-a-saurus, and magical sleeping berries...

We waited until it was dark & windy to head into our backyard and

to the park across from our house to film the 'nighttime scenes'.

We had a complete and utterly delicious ball...

Jonathan put hours upon hours into the editing, cutting and sound mixing,
He even created a movie trailer for it, ha ha...it's brilliant, ha ha...

A Birthday Present

So my sweet niece turned 9 just last week.

(YIKES Time is flying by!...)

I asked her 'Munchkin, what do you want for your birthday'

and she thought about it...

and than said "One of Your Birds With the Twigs...

But All in Black & White"

Well, who can resist their niece asking for a piece of original art, ha ha...

Her wish was of course my command...

I turned one of my 'Nubbin' birds into a black & white version

and painted a different bird on each side so she can flip it from time to time...

Craft Time With My Munchkin

So yesterday I left my warm little rabbity warren/studio to spend the day with my mom and my niece...Karly and I love doing crafty/artsy things together so whiles the cats quietly slept around us and snow fell gently outside, we happily set up shop at my parents big dining room table to dive into a paint set I brought along and some felt/bauble fun...

It's so cute how she concentrates so hard...

...Here's how her sweet heart felt creation turned out...she was adamant about bringing it home to hang on the tree...

...I am not sure if artistic talent is passed through genes or if it's absorbed and passed through proximity but I suppose however it works she's bound to have some artistic talent/interest with an auntie who's a full time artist, an uncy whose a web designer extraordinaire, a father whose a kick ass tattoo artist, a grandma whose very crafty and a grandpa whose a master woodworker...

...I am proud of my little munchkin and I hope she will always want to do artsy crafts with her Aunt Mandy...

This wasn't my planned post for today but my hearts all warm and fuzzy with love so I had to share, ha ha.

Welcoming a New Pup

My parents surprised us last weekend by calling and telling us they brought home a new puppy. And this is the adorable little fur person with the sweetest face and personality who is the newest addition to the Saile family...

They named her Missie (though she was almost named Milla) and she's sweet as pie. I spent all of Wednesday at my moms this past week, just playing with her and holding her when she napped (which right now is all the time, ha ha) and just staring at her adorable precise little self. My mom says she has 'hot lips' and Jonathan and I say her little face is very reminiscent of an Ewok. I can't stay away long...I had to go visit with her again on the weekend and I plan to again this week for sure...a new furry baby is always a wonderful thing.
