It Was A Good Summer

It was a good summer...

Everyday I felt glad that we had a yard for us & the buns.

Strawberry Sweet

Just a day back in the summer when we went strawberry picking.

What's your favorite thing about picking your own strawberries???

I love the drive with my sweet honey, the tractor ride out to the fields and

finishing off a whole basket together on the ride back home to the buns.

Melting

It's been to hot to even turn on my computer!...Are you melting too?

This summer has been too damn hot!  But I guess at least we have a lovely space to melt in!!!

A Visit

When you have real friends they just accept you as you are...
This is one of the few people in my life who truly accepts & loves me as I am, my oldest pal Lisa.

We have been friends since grade one, over 35 years now!
She always wanted kids, even as a kid herself, I didn't, we accept & love that about one another.

We don't get to see each other often, she lives 4 hours away & I can't travel, so I love any time we get together like this super fun day at the same beach Lisa & I used to haunt as kids together.
It was lovely sitting with my oldest pal, feeling that connection to the past,
watching her kids & our honeys make new memories there too, it was a very special day for me.

Just Some Sumer Pics

This winter you'll be seeing a lot of posts from this past summer since I didn't blog much this season,

so that means I have to start posting them now, but I am sure none of you will mind.

With the loss of Betty-Loo early in the season we just found ourselves wanting to stay home a lot,

so it ended up being a very very bun-centric summer with loads getting done in the yard.

Summer Colours

Just one of several pieces I have on the go right now (& a doodle),

I am being inspired by summer colours I think.

We have been on holidays so studio work has slowed down some.  Before we know it we'll be hibernating inside for a long cold winter so yard time for us & the buns is priority right now.

Dorest Tower & Port Sydney Chutes

Bear with me, I am still catching up on some adventuring I want to share from the summer...

This day we planned on doing the Dorset tower, than finding a place to launch our kayaks but

we ended up climbing the 25 meter tower (originally built in 1922) than doing a small forest hike...

than we found ourselves not kayaking at all but finding a place for lunch before we headed off to explore the Port Sydney Chutes (which was disappointingly dull) before heading home to the buns.

It's always fun just to wake up and let the day take you where it wants instead of planning every hour.

Summer Singing

The early part of summer before Elsie got sick and we stayed home was full of time spent like this...

Hanging with my niece and her guitar, enjoying summer days, listening to her sing.  I will treasure it.
