Thanks For The New Roofs Dad & Hon
Our biggest project this past summer was our house & garage roof...phew what a job that was.
But it feels so good to get it done because we were having some water problems last Spring and
we are so grateful to my Dad who worked tirelessly with my honey in the blaring sun, rain & cold.
My Dad & honey work super well together so that's awesome & there were some pretty epic skies.
I hauled shingles to the trailer but I did do some shingle stripping on the garage (during a migraine!) and I am glad I did because it really really made me appreciate how much work it all was, yikes.

Homebody
I am a homebody through & through, my sweet little home makes my heart smile...
I don't think it's just because of my chronic pain that makes me so rooted to home,
nor that all of the buns are so preciously here,
though they are definitely most certainly a big part of me being a homebody.
nor that all of the buns are so preciously here,
though they are definitely most certainly a big part of me being a homebody.
Every single one of our bun-babes has shared this home with us, to me that's so special!
& I LOVE moving things around, especially with the buns underfoot watching me, I can spend ALL day just moving things around, creating whimsical corners & vignettes with favorite pretty things...
do you like moving things around???

Amazing-ness
So last year we splurged and we bought this huge incredible painting from local artist David Carlin...
whom some of you may also know was my high-school art teacher turned mentor turned dear friend.
Every time I pass it I feel humbled to have it in my home and I see something new & beautiful.
We had wanted one of Dave's large-scale originals for awhile
(we have quite a collection of his lino cuts prints going already)
But we were waiting until one of them spoke loud & clear to BOTH of us...and this was the one.
If I have even an iota of his talent & artistic drive & spirit in me when I am in my 70's I'll be lucky!
& now if the house catches on fire I'll gather the bunnies, my honey, my hard-drives & this painting!

Garden Extension
We didn't get as much done outside as we normally do...
BUT we did get our sweet front garden extended and I am so happy with how it turned out.
Every single plant etc in this space, I worked on and we worked on together...
Our whole neighborhood is open clean front yards etc but we like privacy & trees and greenery
so we don't care what our neighbors think of our yard, we do what makes us happy...

We took out lots of grass and put in two new beds (which we'll fill next season)
We built a little garden bed around our big front tree.
I've never been able to bear tossing our old gazebo top (because my honey made it for me)
so we moved it to the front and used it as a garden feature (I LOVE it there)
The front really has become a sanctuary as much as the backyard now & I am so grateful for that.

So Cozy
Routines are shifting. This time of year we bring flowers from outside in to survive our cold nights...
We picked the last of the garden veg & we're spending more time inside with the buns...it's so cozy!

A Loved Garden & Life Cycle
I love how our little garden grows bigger and greener and prettier every year,
we've put in so much love and effort into this little house of ours...it sooo feels like ours, like us.
I don't know if we'll live here forever, maybe not, but I believe in blooming where your planted,
in rooting just right where you currently are. Everyday I am grateful for my little home.
Every single bun-babe we've ever had has lived here with us, that is so special to me
and I love seeing everything spring to life and unfold with beauty every season
and I love seeing everything spring to life and unfold with beauty every season
and than it all like slow-motion magic gets ready slumber for a spell,
usually just about when we're tuckered out from a season of hard work,
when we're ready to hibernate, it tucks in for a rest too.
