His & Hers

I hurt my back so I can't lift or sit in my kayak right now,
which is driving me super bonkers
cause I sooooo neeeeeeeddddd to get out there on the water....
If I'm sounding a bit whiney, it's cause I am slightly!  I can never be away from water for long.
Alas, until I can, I have my current projects keeping me busy...

He has his current projects keeping his royal cuteness happy...

and these beautiful summer days are feeling just fine.
Head pain has been at a minimum...
Buns are all getting outside for long days & evenings in the yard...
My studios are a disaster but that's okay I suppose because it means I've been busy!
How's your summer shaping up?

Companion Cube

So apparently there is a computer game called 'Portal', it's apparently totally great...
And there's something within this game called a 'Companion Cube'...
Okay, honestly, I still really have no ideal what it's all about
but my Munchkin wanted one somewhat desperately
so we as smitten and doting Uncy and Auntie spent a weekend sleepover making one!

She and my honey spent almost 4 hours in the chilly garage making up the cube...
She had a blast and I was impressed that she stuck out the cold.
Than I spent about 3 hours with her painting it.
Than apparently it needed a cake...
Than apparently it would be 'super cool' if I did a drawing of the games characters on the lid...Ha ha!

Hoops Finally Filled

So I've been collecting embroidery hoops for years now & I've been hanging them all over the house.
I have 3 distinct walls in our house filled with them....they've sat empty all this time.

I was slowly collecting dollies and lace...finally I had enough for 1 wall to be completed

It was the moment of realizing what the colours had to be behind the lace that propelled me to finish.

I am completely tickled with how it turned out.  Though it was a admittedly lot of work.

Now if I could only cover up the ugliness of the black tv and speakers...
Why oh why can't they make these things in beautiful glossy whites, blues or reds!
