Sketching With Fruit & Bunnies

Just give days full of sketching time, bunnies to snuggle and fresh fruit

and I am one happy and content gal (even with a sore head!).

It's been a pretty rainy summer

but I honestly don't mind one bit really because it just means more of these favorite things!

I am glad that I am 'getting it'...

That growing a year older isn't a bad thing at all...It's a gift.

A birthday marks a year full of knowledge gained,

which can indeed make our journey through life easier.

It's a year of experiences had and learnt from.  I've always been big on learning.

It's 365 days of hardship & happiness, because let's admit it, life is hard

but hopefully it's always more of the latter, if your very lucky and smart with your perspective!

 

 

So today I turn another year older.

I am 38 years smart!

It's been a hard year in some ways but more so a really wonderful year...

I've been very lucky and blessed.

I've learnt to not be afraid of happiness but to grasp it and hold on for dear life, ha ha.

I've learnt to sing my own tune a little bit more clearly & not quite so shyly

and I can't wait to see what beauty and experiences unfold for me during my next 365.

Loving a Wayward Change of Plans

When I was younger I always had visions of a home.

A house made awesome alongside my love.

I also simultaneously dreamed of travelling the world, always coming back to said cozy abode.

 

I love how plans change for the better when we aren't even looking.

I love that this life right now and this little home we've made together is so cozy, so complete,

that we barely want to leave it!  Especially since we've filled it to the brim with bunnies!!

 

 

Sure the dream to travel is still present

but somehow it's not half as pressing, as important or even in some strange way quite so desirable.

Because somehow in the beautiful crazy way that life works,

bundling up and shoveling a driveway whilst buns whip around snowy pathways

and then all going back inside chilly and ready for hot cocoa's and a crackling fire...

just being in the sweet shelter that we've all built together...

can in some bizarre lovely way feel just as delicious &

soul-warming as a trip to any tropical place!

 

I just LOVE that, so so very very much...don't you?

The Exclusive Party

Oh boy have I ever been having a rough go with another really bad 3.5 day migraine from hell!

So it's feeling like the most perfect time to show you this new illustration of mine

because Jonathan & I pride ourselves on living our own unique lives.

We don't try to fit in...we rarely ever do.

We've learnt that together with our motley crew of long-earred loves
(& sometimes a bird or squirrel or ground hog thrown in too!)
that it's only the little group of us that needs to 'get it' because it's us who live & love this life.
 

So yes, with me being out of commission yet again,

I can't help but embrace this precious little island of sorts we've created together.

Despite the negativity of the pain and all that that entails
I still feel richly surrounded

by beauty, goodness, love, endless gentle support
and my sweet motley crew of beautiful pals...

 

I am on an island with my love of loves that I never never ever ever want to leave...it's me...it's us...

Our Flynn was caught having a tete-a-tete with two of my dolls, ha ha...

 

 

Actually, what he was doing was chewing the embroidered nubs off the rabbits vest!!!

Rabbits are so destructive but my goodness I can't imagine my life & home without them!
