A Typical Day

My days look a lot like this lately...
I spend a lot of time outside with the different buns,
sketching, often stopping for heat/cold packs for my head & cleaning up for Winter.
I am out there rotating between 7 buns;
Korra-Soleil, Misa Adora, Henrie Biggens,
Leisel The Weasel, Yuuji Pudding,
Jaky Jelly Bean and Flynn the Flea...
I miss having 9 buns in the house...
but I keep busy whiles desperately missing
the dearest hearts no longer here...

Than after the chilly air chases us all in,
as dinner cooks, everyone settles in for a cozy evening
all together blessedly inside.
And as the sun slides away for another day
(and with running around & errands done)
I usually curl up and continue my sketching inside,
or if my head allows more serious work,
I'll dive into my colours during tv shows,
and  in between rabbit snugs & pain rests...
this is often our usual Fall routine...
all goodness and beauty intermingled with tender tender hearts,
all rotating around each other late into the night.

Sketching With Fruit & Bunnies

Just give days full of sketching time, bunnies to snuggle and fresh fruit

and I am one happy and content gal (even with a sore head!).

It's been a pretty rainy summer

but I honestly don't mind one bit really because it just means more of these favorite things!

Colouring Pages

Okay you guys my next studio news is about to go out

(after a short interruption, sorry about that!)

I've been conjuring up new colouring pages for you guys to enjoy...

and I can't wait to get colour to it.

Something On My Desk This Sunday

I am starting in on this one...

A joyfully hopping bunny in a garden of flowers...

I needed something extra cheerful to concentrate on as I've been dealing with a lot of crap lately.

I think I'll transfer it to my normal trusty Stonehenge paper

than perhaps try to lay down some acrylics (wish me luck!)

before I get down to the serious business with my colored pencils!

A Rabbit One

I am working on the 2nd and 3rd designs to go along with my image "Autumnal Dance"

This is going to be the rabbit one and I think I'll do a fox for the third design, what do you think?

Fresh Fall Furries

Getting a bit of sketching done outside (admittedly, these cute faces are distracting me big time!)...

 

 

The squirrel is stealing toilet paper from inside the house, that's keeping me well entertained as well!

Pretty and Pleasing

Just sketching up something pretty whiles a bunny eats strawberries...

 

 

This one has no meaning, no story, no purpose other just to be visually pretty and pleasing...

 

 

Sometimes you gotta let your creative brain rest and just let your fingers dance!

So Glad

I am so so so glad that I am not one of the ones headed back to school this week...phew!

I loved school, almost the whole way through, especially my 4 years at OCAD.

 

The learning never ever stops, not if you want to grow as an artist

But I sure am glad that I get to head into my studios than anywhere else.



Sweet Glorious Sketching

More sketching is underway,

it'll take me lovingly into what will hopefully be a great weekend.

 

 

I am drawing majestic herons with giant dragonflies over luminescent moons...

 

 

quiet little rabbits, sweet little ducklings, jumping fish and leaping frogs...

 

 

cute little rodents & smiling salamanders,

all whiles listening to Willy Nelson sing some Gershwin! ahhh...ha ha



Creating Colouring Pages

If your one of my studio news subscribers I do hope that you've been enjoying my coloring pages?

I don't know if you are...I am not getting a whole lot of feedback...hmmm...

I don't know how long I'll be offering these free coloring pages,
But I did promised myself to do a full year at least, so there's still a few to come that's for sure.

 

 

The process of designing them is fun for sure but is indeed time consuming.

They don't just happen or magically appear!

For every page you receive, there's atleast 4 or 5 designs before that that I choose not to share.

I go with my gut...if it doesn't feel like 'the one' to offer you guys that month than I keep drawing.

 

I've tried to keep them really simple, mostly so they are quicker for me to do!

but that's not my style, they need to be lovingly detailed and beautifully intricate to be truly me.

The first one was an owl, the 2nd a puffy feathery songbird with flowers, the 3rd a red monkey

and than two cool bunnies with the latest being a bird with butterflies & flowers.

 

 

I don't know what the next one will be

I am thinking of drawing more rabbits of course, ha ha

but I am always welcoming of your suggestions...

hint hint hint!

Sweet Sweet Sketching

I admit that I haven't been getting a whole lot of 'final' work done lately

 

but I have been getting a whole whack of sketching done...the beginnings of new images... 



 

and I am so enjoying myself, one image is just flowing into the next and into the next...

 

so I am just riding the wave and so so enjoying these sketch filled days so so so much.

Today

Today is calling loud and clear for advil and codeine, hot water bottles and loads herbal tea... 



 

And a stubborn attitude to fight the pain as I spend time with my sketchbook as jazz floats about me.

Low Light

Like any artist, I much rather work with my colours in bright natural light...

 

 

so on rainy days like today when it's rather dark, I usually do sketching & studio clean up.



Sketching

I love drawing and sketching out my pictures

 

 

probably just about as much as I love putting the colour to them.

Florada

You saw her a bit on Tuesday...here's a clearer peek.  I think her name will be 'Florada'

 

 

I already have her colour palate blaring out loudly in my head & I can't wait to get started.

Transferring Time

Transferring some sketches...

 

 

Making the lines darker on one so I can see him on my light table.  I love this part of it all.
