Where are you?....How are you doing??



Weekend Fall Clean Up

The beans & cucumbers are done & the plants barren, brown and frost bitten.
On the counter sits two huge platters of tomatoes that need to turn red still.
We're outside, starting the usual fall clean up...
plants in the composters...pots being piled away...
some furniture tucked away...ponds & fountains are being emptied...
the hammock is sadly being rolled up..one last run to the city recycling yards is being planned,
wood is being stacked & extra birdseed is being put out.
 

 

The buns are all quiet and naughty at the same time.

They seem a bit lost at this time of year, when the doors are closed more than they are open.

They don't seem to understand until you crack the door open in the morning

& a cold blast hits their furry little faces as their little bodies preciously expand &

huff with the intake of unexpected crispy cool air.

Today, we're all together, waiting for some company to arrive, basking in the busy-ness

of another season ending, one that somehow & once again, went by way to quickly.



The Bench Project

I asked Teela "What we should work on next baby girl"
Well, she had an idea right away...

 

 

She said 'Look Mama, our deck bench is all yucky and dirty...'

 

 

Emmett was in agreement with Tee-Tee....

 

 

So we gave it a fresh coat of paint and free hand painted a design on it....

 

 Of course Emmett teased Tee saying 'Na na na...mama is repainting it for ME, not you...'

(naughty buns!)

 

And because I can't ever leave things done simply!  I added some red beads all over the whole thing.

 

 Gave it all 4 thick coats of outdoor varnish and VOILA a pretty new bench for the back deck!

 

Everybun including moi, the artist are pretty happy with it.

Good Summer So Far

They've been having fun...the sweet sweet buns...

 

Elsie is abit of a drama queen and screams when we pick her up but once outside, she's pretty happy.

 

 

I think if Emmett were allowed, he's live outside!...until the mosquitoes come out that is!

 

 

Frenwyck is happiest when we sit and watch him...he likes an audience for all his silly antics.

Henrie learnt the ropes really early on and explores the yard like no ones business.

 

Jaks prefers to stay inside, even when allowed out, he usually brings himself back in, ha ha.

 

Yuuji is our digging king but has thankfully seemed to get over the sad filling in of his burrow! 

Flynn, our little growling grump loves being out and moves about almost constantly.

And Tee-Tee is admittedly my most favorite to be outside with...she's just pure sunshine that one.

 

All in all, despite it being a wet summer, they are having a good summer so far...

just incase you were wondering, ha ha!



Really Sweet Ribbon Swags

I finished up this sweet and pretty little project a couple weeks ago.

I am so so pleased with how it turned out.

 

This pile of seven carefully selected fabrics and some white cording...

 

 

became this...

 

the prettiest ribbon swags...I made four.

 

 

I was looking for the perfect thing to decorate our new 'Pagoda' (more on the rebuild later)...

 

I think they were the perfect answer to fill the space...

 especially when the sun and wind plays through them...ahhhh...



 

Pretty fabric (all on sale) + creativity = a happy heart & delighted eyes.

 

 

What's the next project?

well Henrie suggested we refresh the 'pond' area so that's what we're on to now, ha ha!

 



More Outside Loveliness

I wanted to show you all my 2nd favourite place outside.
I am puttering around and working in this lovely spot all spring, summer and fall
(and now nights since that the mosquitoes are going away).

This is the beautiful gazebo Jonathan and I made together...(Jonathan made that table too from old scraps).
I've shown this space to you before as well, but as always, it changes from season to season.

We can be found out here even when the snow is flying...which it will soon be doing!

so the buns and I are out here enjoying the last of the flowers & warm sun, every chance we get.

Hope you's don't mind seeing snippets of my time outside
but it is what I am currently enjoying and basking in.

Outside With...

I've been outside more than not this past week,
often well past the time twinkling stars dance across the skies.
I am with such loveliness as...

My big grey baby...

With the last of the annuals and with chickadees drinking from the fountain...

with my felt and floss and beads, stitching up a new lovely wearable...



I am outside with a full full heart.
