Glitter Bug 4

Say Hello to Glitter Bug 4
(I am really enjoying these tiny little guys)

This is the only one with sparkles (before I decided against sparkles)
so it has abit of extra shine/glimmer in the sunlight.

Glitter Bugs For Jaks

So a few weeks ago we found a large lump on Jaks's tummy.

I didn't mention it here on the blog yet because it's was just stressing me out too much
and usually when something is freaking me out,
I need to take my own time to quietly process it and deal with it all in my own way.

On our doctors opinion and after many sleepless nights,
we've decided to go ahead with the surgery to remove the large lump
and to have it biopsied so we know if we're dealing with cancer or not.

So I've been spending alot of time in the upstairs studio,
which as you know, I share with Jaks,
just to be near my sweet spotted prince.

It's my routine whenever something is up with one of the buns.
It's my way I guess to deal with the scare and stress of it all....
to constantly be around, more than normal, offering an increased love dosage!

So as my spotted prince naps away,
I've been working on these bugs to cheer myself up.
I am calling them "Glitter Bugs".

They are all miniature.  A teeny tiny 2 x 2" and smaller and will be little mixed media gems.
I am going to finish up these first few this weekend.

Jaks surgery is going to be $600
and I thought maybe...
just maybe these little bugs can help pay for the cost of the surgery?!?

So starting next week, I'll start listing the originals...
they'll go for a great price of $20-$30 only.
Each one unique & original.
They'll be filled with bunny mojo, they will be full of glitter...I think they are going to be really fun.

So hop in next week to see the first few all finished up and snatch up any that you love.

See ya all next week XO.

Duck in Ink & Dishes In The Bathroom

Hi ya everyone...
How's is your day so far?

Before I rush off to my treadmill, I wanted to show you another drawing I just finished up.
I am so happy I've discovered a love for ink drawing and doing so in black & white.
I am really feeling very pleased about these inklings of mine
(even if my last one was so horrible, I tossed it in the fire, ha ha!)
I am so loving them mixed in with my usual super colorful work...
I am honestly surprised because I never expected my color-loving heart to so readily accept B & W.
I've even been adding these new ink drawings to my Creative Source portfolio,
that's how confident I am in them...which is just awesome.

Well amidst some big projects outside being worked on furiously still....
Amidst a kitchen reno on the go (doing dishes in the bathroom for a week was long enough for me!)
Amidst long hours being put in on my new website...
Amidst lots of headaches, pouring rain keeping us all indoors, bunny snuggling, etc...
I did manage one last update on my current site, do check it out www.BijousWhimsy.com
(but keep in mind it's a flash site & not available on tablets or phones, hence the new one coming!)
I feel a little sad about leaving it but excitement over the new site will make it easier to let it go.

I hope your having a wonderful Wednesday...
the bunnies are happy, the jazz is tinkling, the sun is shining, the leaves are falling!
& my honey & I are anxiously waiting to see if his work-at-home app will be accepted or denied.

She Nurtured Her Kindred Spirits

This is to date, my favorite illustration yet.

"She Nurtured Her Kindred Spirits"

This is one of those rare occasions where the tangible turns out better than what was floating about
in my head.  I love the mood I achieved with the painted background mixed with the
crispness & fun of the foreground bits.

Here's a closer look...

This image is for any animal lover.
Especially those who love the coziness of rain and of September...
It's for those souls like me, who rush outside everyday to feed the furry monkeys out there
as well as any monkeys you may have inside.

And yeppers, you once again guessed it.  Prints are already sitting in my shop for you.

Thanks SO much for dropping in this week....see you all next week.  XXOO.

She Wished Upon Every Star To Always Be A Safe Haven

The story of this piece is also it's title...

She Wish Upon Every Star To Always Be A Safe Haven

Some details...

This image of mine calls out to any kindred souls out there who love animals beyond words.
Kindred Souls who always have that thudding pull in their very veins of wanting to do more...
it's for those with the need to answer the wild & loud call from their tender hearts
to do as much as they possibly can ...
it will speak to anyone who wants to be a safe haven for those who can't protect themselves.

I am truly proud of this piece and I've decided that I feel too close to it right now to sell the original.

This is just one of many character portraits that I think will be making into a book someday.
