Fox Goddess

And because my honey wants everything to 'be normal', that means me getting back into my studio.

So here's something underway, an inkpen on paper of a cool foxy goddess...I am liking it so far.

There isn't enough time in a day to work with all of the mediums I am addicted too...sigh!

Bunny Honey Hop Along

"Bunny, honey, hop along...your so sweet, let's sing a song"

no I am  not loosing my mind! ha ha, it's just a little ditty that came to mind as I worked on her.

 

 

Isn't' she a sweetie?  (she is modeled after our honey bee Teela).

Prints have already hopped along into the shop for anyone interested.

A collection of my rabbit inklings would look SO good in a kids room...just putting that out there!



Emmett Inspired

Well my morning started off with the tricky business of getting a plump grey squirrel

unstuck from the chimney & than out of the house!

Than I finished off this new ink drawing...

this one was inspired by our Min Min (aka Emmett)

Today I am working on another fish inkling in black & white and also on a goat in coloured pencil...

I have to work hard this week to keep up with an important deadline...more on that later!

Duck in Ink & Dishes In The Bathroom

Hi ya everyone...

How's is your day so far?

 

Before I rush off to my treadmill, I wanted to show you another drawing I just finished up.

I am so happy I've discovered a love for ink drawing and doing so in black & white.

I am really feeling very pleased about these inklings of mine

(even if my last one was so horrible, I tossed it in the fire, ha ha!)

I am so loving them mixed in with my usual super colorful work...

I am honestly surprised because I never expected my color-loving heart to so readily accept B & W.

I've even been adding these new ink drawings to my Creative Source portfolio,

that's how confident I am in them...which is just awesome.

 

 

Well amidst some big projects outside being worked on furiously still....

Amidst a kitchen reno on the go (doing dishes in the bathroom for a week was long enough for me!)

Amidst long hours being put in on my new website...

Amidst lots of headaches, pouring rain keeping us all indoors, bunny snuggling, etc...

(but keep in mind it's a flash site & not available on tablets or phones, hence the new one coming!)

I feel a little sad about leaving it but excitement over the new site will make it easier to let it go.

& my honey & I are anxiously waiting to see if his work-at-home app will be accepted or denied.



Starry Starry Night...with a Bunny

A new ink drawing.  I love this one...each new one becomes my favorite, I love that!

 

 

I am defiantly going to keep moving forward with these since I am enjoying them so much. 



Your Existence Gives Me Peace

I had been drooling over a set of Prismacolour markers

and my friend Maria finally convinced me to splurge and get them for myself.

So I've been playing...

and just finished up this ink drawing which I call

"Your Existence Gives Me Peace"

...I guess the couple in the image does look abit like Jonathan and myself,

and I suppose that was intentional since the piece is about us, love, partnership

and how my honey's presence and existence gives me great peace & soothing hope.

These new markers are perfect for those days where my heads quite sore

and I just can't bring myself to work at my desks or easels
but when I want to get something creative done.

I can just curl up with a small piece of paper and the markers whiles on the comfy couch or bed.

I am going to print out the black and white drawing and then take my watercolours to the print. 

I can't wait to do so...I'll show you the results here of course.

I have another black and white to show you soon...it's one for animal lovers/advocates.

Something Different

Sometimes a gals just gotta play with her ink pens and do something abit different than her usual work....

such as this little trio of cats done in ink pen on canvas....

I still have to add some simple colour but here's a sneak peek...

Because there's nothing wrong with wanting to add abit of light, fun and cuteness to the world.

New Original 'Circus Poisson"

As promised I have a new picture to show you.
 

It is called "Circus Poisson"

It is a sweet little thing measuring only 6 inches by 6 inches and I must say it just feels precious, it really does.

It is coloured pencil and ink with abit of acrylic & some sparkles, on a kiln dried pine block.

This week I'll be posting on Thursday and Saturday instead of my usual Monday, Wednesday, Friday routine.  We are still abit unwell in this cozy little rabbity warren of ours and schedules therefore are abit helter skelter...so see you Thursday lovely peeps.

A New Illustration "Amaryllis Bird

So after a night of getting at least half a foot of snow, I thought I'd reveal this bright red bird to add to the Holiday Cheer. I created this image primarily as a Xmas card (hopefully on Thursday, I'll be showing you the finished product).

This image "Amaryllis Bird" was created with acrylic, coloured pencil and ink on paper. The original is indeed for sale, I'll let you know at a later time when and where it will be available outside of this blog.

A New Illustration Made on a Wonderful Day

So whiles I am in the process of working slowly and finding my footing whiles on a new path, the day called for nothing serious and just a simple and colourful image. I was thinking of my brother after I finished up this one because I think it would make an excellent tattoo.

This illustration is called "Joyful Fish" and is only 6" x 6", done with collage, watercolour pencil and ink. A Print will be available in my Etsy Shop over the next few days. I am excited about a new product I'll be introducing to the shop soon...custom orders will be available for any print of your choosing, and the prints will be mounted on birch...they are looking great and I can't wait to show you all the first batch. This Joyful fish image will be in the first group I introduce into the shop.

So I took a few shots from my day and it was a beautiful day. One where I had one of my favourite sky.fm stations on...it wasn't too cold or too hot so all the doors in the house were open and the rabbits spent the whole entire day outside. Jinny has discovered a favourite new game which is 'Let's see who's faster' and the winner gets to hide and dig under the boardwalk for hours on end!!! So whiles I waited for the little bugger to come out...is when I got "Joyful Fish" done.

Here is Hazel just about to join her sister under the boardwalk! Hazel seems most comfortable outside when she knows I am close by, so having me sitting there close working away suited her just fine.

Here's my favourite shot of the day...Jinny sitting by the tree and ferns, in the sun...she looks so peaceful and therefore so was I. It was a good day. And to top it all off, we got the most beautiful pumpkin for carving and soup at the grocery store later in the same day and a full tank of gas for free:D Happy day. Be Well All and Happy Creating.
