Floors & Bursitis

I shouldn't be on the floors so much
because I've been dealing with a trochanteric hip bursitis the past year in my right hip...

But it's super hard to ignore these adorable little faces,
so I can't help but bring my work down onto the floor sometimes to be closer to them.

Leisel In Lines

Leisel's portrait is all done...I am really pretty happy with it.  I sure do love these Micron pens.

I think it would be really fun to print this off & get some watercolour to the print., do you think?

Off Schedule But That's Okay

With everything going on with our health I haven't gotten my shop back up
and running like I was hoping to for January.

I am not stressing about it.  Trust me, I've finally learnt what and what not to stress about!
I'll get it done.  I guarantee lots of lovely things to come in more than one lovely place!

Have I shown this ink drawing of mine to you guys yet?

I think it's going to be one super fun image to redo in linocut, I can't wait.

Jaks In Ink

Back around Christmas time I started a ink drawing of Jaks...
I think it was shortly after he passed, I missed his sweet face so it just felt like a good thing to do.

I usually do portraits for other people but not myself so I've been enjoying drawing our own family.
I'll show you how this one turned out soon.

Leisel In Lines

Here is the portrait of Leisel a little further along...sometimes these portraits move along slowly.

Ink pens are the perfect thing to use cause I can kind of curl up with them & work still when in pain.

Working With Rabbits Outside

Here is another Micron ink pen portrait I started back in the summer...
Maybe you can't tell from here but this one is of our Leisel...I'll show you the finished piece soon.

When working outside I need to use mediums that I can pick up & drop super easily because
I am usually watching the buns in the yard at the same time, honestly some days I get no work done!

Henrie's Ink Portrait

As many rabbits as I usually draw,
I don't actually draw my buns all that often, not their portraits anyhow

Well I've been craving to draw them more so here is how Henrie's ink portrait turned out.
I will be adding a portraiture page to my new website & I am excited about that.

The Bird & The Flowers

Here's a brand new Ink Pen drawing that I just finished up.
I am really happy with how it turned out,
I feel like the bird looks pretty darn content in it's pretty flowery setting.

I'll let you know when prints have hit the shop
and when the original is up for grabs
(my studio subscribers who chose to "Keep In Touch" always get first dibs on original work).

Colour and a Person In Ink Pen

I am in that mode again...
bits and pieces mode where I am doing a little bit on this picture & a little bit on that one & so on...
So I don't have a whole lot of final pieces to show you right now but than I'll have a whack of em!

Here's something a bit different from my usual ink pen work that's dragging on a bit.
I think it's my first time drawing a person in ink pen, usually I just stick to animals & flowers etc...
I tried adding colour too for the first time as well, hmmm, we'll see how it goes!

A Heron In Progress

Here's a peek at something new.  I've been so inspired by herons, I'll show you why later this week.

Here is a newbie in Micron pen...

There isn't enough time in a day to work with all of the mediums I am addicted too...sigh!

Duo In Orange & Blue

Here it is...the blue and orange bunnies I've been giving you sneak peeks of...
It's the first time I mixed watercolour with black & white ink pen work, I am pretty happy with it.

I don't know if I'll be listing prints of it yet.  If I do, I'll let you know.
The original is up for grabs.  If your interested just email me at Whimsy@MandySaile.com

A New Ink Pen

Here's my newest ink pen drawing...he's a small one at only 4 x 6".
The original is available if any of you like him, just email me.

I did him on Sa paper which is a really textured handmade paper...I love him...
but I think I'll stick to my usual super bright white smooth papers...
you have to experiment now and than with papers and mediums though to keep things fresh.
Prints of him will be in the shop soonish.
