The Lovely Little Things
It's really the very simplest of things most of the time
that can make for a really lovely day of feeling so very lucky, isn't it...
Like finding long lost keys for a box you really really didn't want to waste or throw away...
Having a day off with your family...

I don't need a big fancy house or super duper sports car sitting out in the driveway.
I don't need some grand worldly adventure...(right now anyhow, ha ha!)
Just give me a cozy day where I walk in the garden with my honey to see what's newly bloomed...

Just give me some African Violets to plant & a new green potty for my 9 year old bun and I am good.

Another Old Piece Reworked....
Aside from the previous 5 oldies I recently showed you, I also reworked 2 others, this pink flower one, which I stuck in a lovely frame from India and there is also a Buddha which I'll show you soon too...What do you think?
This one was a watercolour from a photograph I took at the beautiful Allen Gardens, when we lived in T.O. it was a place we frequented alot, a place to realign our tender souls when they felt abit battered by the big city!...it was nice to remember one of our old haunts as I reworked this piece.
...and I ask your opinions again...do you think I should add this one to my Etsy shop???

To refresh the oldie I added some acyclic paint, especially gold and abit of black coloured pencil...it's now at the gallery but if your interested send me a comment or email.

Love Deeply
Of course I didn't illustrate any valentines day pictures! I need to get better at that, ha ha. I meant too, but I've been to occupied in my world of 'Nubbins' and other sparks of creativity. But I did take abit of time to play around with one of my photographs...not too shabby for someone who barely used a computer, ha ha. Anyhow, just popping in quickly today to wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day weekend...
...May you Love Deeply, as much as you can, for as long as you can, and with as many as you can...Happy Valentines...See you all Monday. Love Love Love, Mandy a.k.a. Bijou of Bijou's Whimsy.
(p.s. To my amazing man...your love is beyond belief and beyond words, Happy V-Day my super-genius, thank you thank you thank you...love you love you love you...to infinite. XXOO)

New Painting "Flower & Words"
Original will be available for purchase shortly.
A print will also be available shortly.
Hi everyone. I've had a few sad days recently which I haven't really felt like talking much about, but my heart feels heavy, so I've been happy to dive into these 'daily paintings' to help ease my mind abit. News of my grandfather in Germany is not good and I am thinking of him constantly and of all my beloved German family actually. I was last in Germany when I was 12 or 13, and though I am 30 years old now and many years have passed since I was last there, I remember many nuances like it was yesterday. Lighting of certain vistas and hills, my grandparents house, smells, sounds and just special feelings of special places and people follow me closely in my heart like I just experienced them yesterday. Even though it's been a couple of years since my dear grandma Katie passed, I can still feel exactly what it was like to hug her, she loved to hug people, she had this sweet little voice, a contagious giggle and a honest to goodness sparkle in her eye...I just adored my grandma and I miss her. To think of my grandpa leaving us soon, with my never getting a chance to spend time with him because we were so far apart, just makes me feel very sad and somehow lost. I've always kept in close contact, writing lots of letters to my Aunt and Grandma, my grandma loved stickers so I'd often send her letters full of sticker sheets. Since she's been gone, I've continued to write to my grandpa with the simple message that though we are miles apart, I've always felt very close at heart.
Well, I am going to get too emotional if I write on about it right now. My message today is a simple one...Love your loved ones well; be kind, have patience, hug lots and let them know often that you care for them. Until tomorrow, be well.
