An Older Painting "Atlantean Ebb"

Hi everyone...despite the rainy and stormy Monday that today was, it was a really good and productive day...unfortunately though, the time was not spent on creating but on ordering and organizing new supplies for exciting new products I hope to introduce to you all soon.

Today, I wanted to show you one of my favourite older paintings. It is acrylic on canvas, measures 4 feet x 4 feet and is called "Atlantean Ebb". I created this piece specifically for my very first solo exhibition....which was years ago!....way to long now that I am thinking of it.

Anyhow, I am moving some paintings around the house this week and this is one that has been relocated, so I thought I would share it with you all since the 'gallery' section on my current website is one of the less visited portfolios.

Friday's Here With An Older Illustration

Good Friday Everyone. We've had a few lovely days full of sunshine and thankfully not-intolerable heat but today is gloomy and looks like it will rain any minute which I am actually happy about because I have too much to get done to worry about the outdoors beckoning me to 'come hither' ha ha.

Since I've been busy with some other secretive things:D which I can't share with you this week...let me show you another old favourite of mine "Home" which is the coloured pencil study for one of my most favourite paintings that I've done so far...here's the painted version...which my friend Maria will attest to that it's defiantly not one for sale, I just can't seem to part with it.

This version was done years later in acrylic on canvas and it's about 2 x 3 feet. It was one of my very first paintings that I didn't show to many people and aside from it's subject which hits home for me (at the time all Jon and I wanted was a little house near the water that we could live in peacefully and blissfully and fill with rabbits:D....we got our wish years later:D) whenever I look at this painting I am reminded of the joy I had in making it, the excitement that came with working with paints...well I just think that it's important to keep reminders around like that so I refuse to part with this piece and it happily lives in my main studio.

Well, I really must get going...my studio needs attention....serious attention actually and some added twinkle lights and pink paint I am thinking, I promise to share photos of my studio someday soon. Also, today my dad is getting back home, yay...so we'll go meet him at the airport.

New Illustration & Glorious Thursday

Hi Everyone. I wanted to share a new illustration with you all, I haven't shown anyone this one yet. I originally started this piece to enter into a watercolour competition but I soon realized my watercolour skills are somewhat below par for such a thing, so I went off and just had fun with it. I added acrylics, red rhinestones, scraps of paper with stencilling on them and the fish scales all have pieces of a carefully cut Mexican map. The writing in the 4 corners reads as this "Whichever Direction You Choose To Go In Go With Good Company". Which is a firm moral of mine.

The original for this illustration may be available through my Etsy store at a later point. Or as always people can just call or email me directly if they are interested. I won't dicuss or post about pricing etc on this blog as it's suppose to be an inspirational and whimiscal and fun blog and let's face it, pricing or negotiating is rarely much fun at all!

I didn't post yesterday since I happily spent the day over at my mom's. It was a lovely day despite a bad migraine. I went back and forth from the heating pad with the cat Maggie sitting on my hip meowing because I was apparently in 'her' spot, ha ha, to my illustration. We did sneak out during a lull in my throbbing head to go to the library and stock up on audio books. I just adore being able to spend days like this with my mom. I always get lots of work done, but get to chat it up with my momma and we usually eat pretty good all day long too.

Today, whiles I wait for a couple of emails and the rabbits are lounging around on the sunny back deck, I have free time so I am going to finish off a simple but cute little pink bunny painting that I started yesterday night.

A New Painting "Seal Sun"

Good Thursday everyone. I hope your all well. Let me show you a new painting that I finished yesterday. It is called "Seal Sun". It is 10.5"x9"x1.5". The sides of the wood are painted as well.

All of my images/paintings have a story or ideal behind them, and I love to share that when people specifically ask for it, but otherwise I really like people to bring their own stories to my imagery, I think it's more fun that way.

This painting is ready for hanging and is done with acrylic and coloured pencil on kiln-dried, gessoed wood, I also gave it 3 coats of a clear, water-bourne/resistant, uv protective coating.
