Lake Life

We are so lucky to live pretty close to this big beautiful lake...

it's only about a 10 minute walk away...

We go here a lot after work to decompress, for sunsets, for short breaks from the buns,

after, before & in between errands...

it always seems to beckon "Come sit and breathe for a spell.."

Our 2nd date was here, along this lake, a long leisurely stroll at night in thick heavy fog...

almost 25 year ago now...

we love it so, it's part of us. I tell my hon, when I die, he's to spread most of my ashes in this water!

It's a place that soothes, refreshes and amazes us with it's always changing beauty.

Views From My Perch

Do you have a go-to place in your home that helps center and calm you???
I have what I call 'My Perch' on our little kitchen deck...

 

almost every evening, I climb on up onto my little bench and I peek onto the court... 

 

It feels so way up high...I can see my neighbor's gardens and pools...somehow it's calming...



 ...Especially when the crickets sing and the views are looking like this, different every single night.

Ahhhh...helps me settle and breathe better every single time.

Back To The Office

Well my honey's telework application was not renewed so it's back to the office full-time he goes...

There's no sense in being upset about it...

We had him here with us working from home 3 days out of a 5 day work week for the past 13 months and it was so awesome but we knew it wasn't going to be a permanent schedule.

Still, all that being said, I've been partly dreading September for this reason.

 

 

I've been keeping my fingers crossed...waiting with baited breathe.

I've loved having my love home with me so much, I've treasured it & the rabbits loved it too.

I'll have to dote on Frenwyck for abit for he's going to miss having his daddy home the most...

he was always quiet and despondent when Jon went into the 'real' office Thursday & Fridays.

 

 

But it's all about attitude & perspective right...

Having him home for the last 13 months has, like I said been heaven & we appreciate the experience.

And he does goes back to the office full of lovely people & great co-workers

and to a pretty spectacular view of the skies and lake.

So a new shift of schedule is upon us and we're gonna embrace it the best we can.

A wonderful weekend with bunny happiness

Hi Everyone. We had such a wonderful and crazy busy weekend. Where the summer started off slowly and not feeling overly productive, we've kicked it into high gear now and feel like we are getting tons done and starting to enjoy the last half of the season.

I spent some time in my 'painting studio' tidying up abit. Some time buying new wood for upcoming paintings. I am in an exhibition in September so I must soon begin steady work on my pieces for that. I also made time to set up shop on the floor near Hazel and Jin and made some more stars but I'll show you those in tomorrow's post.

On Monday, we had a delicious lunch out at one of our favourite old jaunts...vegetarian pizza, potato and leek soup and Greek salad seemed to start the afternoon off wonderfully. Well anyhow, we just finished off a lovely porch off our kitchen. Because our Ella-Luna and Roo really don't like Hazel and Jinny, we have the house separated into two areas where each couple gets their own space. Ella and Roo have always had their own large back deck leading into the yard which they can use at their hearts content. And now, through the hard work of my sweetie and some help from my dad, Hazel and Jin now have their very own deck. After lunch this day, for the first time we took the girls out to their newly created space and taught them that going out onto that deck and going down the stairs leads to their very own grassy paradise...Here are some shots from the day...

As you can see Jinny was having an absolute ball. We had never seen her jump and leap and dash and spin and dance with such exuberance or joy behind, it was really a sight to behold and did our hearts great good.

That's our Hazel just being sweet Hazel....

With assurance from us, that yes indeed this parcel of yard is just for them...they proceeded to have an excellent day...

Well, we purposely left part of this area will taller grass...just for the bunnies...but they weren't quite used to it at first, ha ha...

The day was indeed fantastic...I wish that everyone could feel the wide array of wonderful emotions that these wonderful little furry hearts bring to us. One does not need to give birth to feel the pure joy of loving, being fully committed and caring for another precious soul, even if that beautiful soul has fur. I hope you all had an excellent weekend full of smiling, love and happiness. We do truly create our own happiness....go after yours if your less than content.
