A Kind Night In Progress

I am so happy to be back to blogging, hopefully with my normal regularity now!

Although I have come back to find that the Blogger interface has

completely changed and I can't say I am a fan of the changes whatsoever!

Anyhow...let me start to catch you up on abunch of new images...

...so bear with me as I figure out everything

and get a new font etc sorted out!!

In the meantime here's a new piece almost complete,

it's a coloured pencil on paper called "A Kind Night",

it's taking awhile as it's full of lots of detail but it'll all be worth it I am hoping.

I'll be able to show you the final piece soon XO.

Meet The Maker - Day 4 - Silver Linings

 Today's Meet The Maker Prompt is 'SILVER LININGS'.

This one is easy cause I am a Silver Linings kind of person.

I live with two neurological diseases and a disease of the nervous system

but despite the chronic pain that's constantly ravaging and testing my body, finding Silver Linings is essential to maintaining a positive mental attitude

through the storms.  It might be something small like "Hmmm okay I might feel like I was run over by a truck" today BUT at least I have a wonderful honey who loves making me wonderful healthy meals to help me get through and that fills my heart. Or maybe I am stuck in bed feeling like my head is going to explode BUT all of the bunnies are eating and I can hear them eating and that's one of the best sounds in the world, it makes me smile right through the pain.

Or perhaps it's a really bad fibro flare day

and it's one of those days where it feels like it's taking effort just to breathe!

BUT I've got all of the Whimsical Colourful Joyful Artwork

I know I will get back to the second I feel better and that's surely a Silver Lining.

 

I think too in this unpredictable and scary time with the pandemic

Silver Linings can be found all around if we really look hard enough.

I have been latching onto the extra uninterrupted time at home

with my family, that's been extra heavenly.

And I have been feeling so very grateful to all of you lovely souls

who are supporting us Indie businesses...

especially all of you who have understood that I needed to shut down

my online shop during this turbulent awful last year with our cancer fight

but you still showed much needed support with DMs

and emails asking after and buying original work, which has been amazing,

that has truly been a HUGE Silver Lining in all of this unstable upset.

Thank You 💖 SO much.

Feather Song In My Society6

Teela's Portrait

I revisited the portrait I did of Teela.

There was something about it that felt unfinished and I realized what was needed...

She needed some of the pink & purple from the background.  Now I am in complete love with it.

This one is just for me.  I don't know if I'll be offering prints etc or not, we'll see.

Tulip & Bunny

I am excited about this new image

but I am suddenly really disliking the paper so I am also anxious to finish it!

This little leaping bunny on the top is suppose to be Miss Misa Adora.

I am hoping to finish it up next week but we'll see how my pain levels are.

Teela's Portrait

I did a portrait in Polychromos of one of my soulmates, my beloved departed Teela.
It took me awhile as I just kept getting so emotional whenever I worked on it,
her getting so sick so suddenly, us doing everything we could but not being able to save her,
never really knowing what happened to her because I just couldn't agree to an autopsy,
her dying at such a young age, her leaving her bonded mate Yuuji behind...

hers is a loss that I carry with me every day that's all I can say.
But that's all sad stuff...this picture is about her beautiful amazing spirit.
She was just pure sunshine to me...in fact I sang her that song every day at bedtime!
I knew upon minutes after adopting her that loosing her would be impossible for me, I just knew.
She was our very first shelter adoption &
she helped pave the road for so many others to come after her.
She was magic.  She was my best friend.  She was my baby girl.  She was my heart.
This ones's for her.
  I might release limited edition prints but I am not sure yet, I'll let you know.

Pretty Lady

This is one of my newest mixed media ladies and I have to say I am loving her.

I don't know where she's going quite yet, I started her without a concept but I'll get there.

Rainbow Rabbit Coming Along

Whimbley Underway

Hey guys, I started a new little character, his name is Whimbley...he's going to be a pretty cool guy.

He's a stargazer, I know that already, the rest of the story to come sooner than later hopefully!

Henrie's Line Portrait

Back in the summer I started this ink drawing of Henrie and I totally forgot to show you!

Airabella In Progress

I started in on an Arabian Gazelle...I hope she turns out like I image.

Her whimsical little tale is already weaving it's way outta my brain.

Couldn't Fight It

Well I couldn't do it....I couldn't leave the background white as I so very strongly planned to do!

I just had to hide my beautiful owl, I had to make eyes seek out all the whimsy like normal....

and that is okay, that's how this all works best, with fluidity and with a willingness to listen

to what your picture wants to be...why fight it...it's part of the magical dance of making art!

The Monkey King

I am going to for go Food Friday this week to show you my newest image.

It's my very first image done 100% in beautiful Faber-Castell Polychromos.

It's called "The Monkey King"

I am very pleased with it even if I moved super slowly on it.

Prints and the original will be available but probably only after the holidays,

I promise to let you know when.

I think I am going to take this weekend off from blogging, so i'll be seeing you Monday. XO.

She's Looking Pretty

I am doing this pretty doll on watercolour paper which takes layers of colored pencils beautifully

but which I find a lot more time consuming because I find that you do have to put down more layers to cover the texture of the paper (I like my paper grain to be hidden by the time I am done)...

 

I am glad I started showing you guys all of these detail & in progress shots. 

I think it's nice for people to really see all the detail I put in my work.

Are You Following Me?

So I whiles I do use other social media beside my beloved blog here,

this blog space (besides my website) is where you'll get the ultimate overall view of what I am doing,

(even if I am often behind real time)...

Even if it seems blogs are on a downward trend,

I don't ever see myself leaving my blog for any other platforms....

 

Now and than however,

I do put extra things on Instagram that I don't post here,

(just like I now and than put photos into my Flickr albums that I don't post anywhere else).

So, that being said, maybe you should probably follow me over there too...
