Cosmic Fox

I finished my "Cosmic Fox"...she's just plain old archival ink pen on sketchpaper...

I am pretty sure she's going to be going on some t-shirts soon, that's exciting.

A Kind Night In Progress

I am so happy to be back to blogging, hopefully with my normal regularity now!

Although I have come back to find that the Blogger interface has
completely changed and I can't say I am a fan of the changes whatsoever!

Anyhow...let me start to catch you up on abunch of new images...

...so bear with me as I figure out everything
and get a new font etc sorted out!!
In the meantime here's a new piece almost complete,
it's a coloured pencil on paper called "A Kind Night",
it's taking awhile as it's full of lots of detail but it'll all be worth it I am hoping.
I'll be able to show you the final piece soon XO.

Teela In The Garden Watercolour

I finally finished the watercolour version of

"Teela In The Garden"

I am not sure if I'll be putting her on products or listing it for sale yet etc...

We face another surgery, a 4th resection next week, bear with me in my blog absences!

Fox Goddess

And because my honey wants everything to 'be normal', that means me getting back into my studio.

So here's something underway, an inkpen on paper of a cool foxy goddess...I am liking it so far.

Teela's Portrait

I revisited the portrait I did of Teela.
There was something about it that felt unfinished and I realized what was needed...

She needed some of the pink & purple from the background.  Now I am in complete love with it.
This one is just for me.  I don't know if I'll be offering prints etc or not, we'll see.

This is one of my newest mixed media ladies and I have to say I am loving her.

I don't know where she's going quite yet, I started her without a concept but I'll get there.

A Lino Of Flynn

When I say the rabbits we adopt and rescue are my main inspirations I really mean it...

There's no mistaking it, our Flynn is the model for one of my newest lino...I hope I do him justice!

Cutting Out The Colour

One of my favourite parts of making my images is the part where I releash the image from it's paper suuroundings, it's a delicate somewhat time consuming process sometimes but it's meditative too.

It goes much more smoothly when I work on a thin less textured paper which I tend to use for these butterflies because they are so small.  I always get a few colored & cut out before I get them onto their backgrounds.

Starry Evening Tide

Here it is, one of my latest ink pens that I had a ball with...
even if during it's making I started having problems with my eyesight
which lead me to the optometrist, which has unfortunately lead to the costly
necessity of switching one lens in all of my glasses
because my prescription has changed slightly, argh!!!

I like to make pictures where animals get along and
where they are all vegetarian and leave one another in peace!
Hence the boat full of calm star fishing/gazing bunnies and
two sleepy owls who want nothing more than to just sit on their star surrounded branch
enjoying one another & the sweet evening...ahhhh....lovely & wishful!

Star Fishing Bunnies

I still have to scan it in but here's a peek, it's a boat full of star fishing bunnies

and two sleepy owls...I'll show you the completed image this Thursday.

Handmade Art Cards

I made a big batch of art cards recently.  They are a lot of work & a bit hard on the body
with all the bending over for precise cutting & folding & glittering all by hand but it's worth it...
I'll show you the lovely shop where these end up in another post.

(I included a picture of Teela & I on the backs of quite of few as my way of remembering my girl).
Don't forget, you can get art cards in my shop & I am happy to make cards from any of my images,
so if you want an image but don't see it as a card, you just have to ask and I'll gladly make it for ya.

The Honey-Tongued Hostess

I like people to decipher the story within this new illustration for themselves

"The Honey-Tongued Hostess"

I think this beauty deserves a closer look...

I am really proud of this piece.  8 x 10" prints are already in the shop if your interested.

What do YOU think the story with this one is???

Sner Snickley

Hi Everyone,
meet my newest little chum
"Sner Snickley"
I just have to share abit of his story with you

...Sner Snickley was excited.
He was so excited that his hat was about to wobble right off the top of his furry head.
So very excited that he had so many goose bumps along his bald little tail that he was getting chilly!
Yes, he was excited because he was on his way to the airport.
In under 2 hours, he would be flying high above cotton puff clouds to a long dreamt of destination...
a place he's been dreaming of all of his young life and right into his current middle life...
yes indeedy,
it was time for Sner to jet off to the mystical and magical island of Ibiza.

He had everything he needed packed up beautifully and efficiently...
An extra bag to bring back souvenirs & hopefully atleast 10 fresh pineapples, his favorite fruit.
He was already signed up for a 2 week long diving class so he had snorkel and fins packed.
Embarrassingly, his tail and fair face crisped up in the sun like a piece of soy ham,
so he packed not 1 but 3 bottles of spf 80 lotion.  No need for more wrinkles after all!
He had several swimming trunks in various colours,
though the submarine yellow ones with red and blue Ferraris on them were his absolute favorite,
he didn't know why exactly but they just made his heart happy, so he actually bought 2 pairs of those.
He also made sure to pack his jet black dancing shoes and extra shoe polish
for he planned to dance alot and every single night of his vacation,
oh how his heart fluttered just thinking of dancing away the nights under the pink Ibiza stars
And of course he must bring his special suitcase, the one that perfectly houses his burgundy top hat...
he went no where without his lucky top hat...ever.
Maybe, just maybe he might get lucky enough to meet the future Mrs. Snickley on the dance floor.
Oh yes, indeedy, he was hat wobbling, goose bump chilly, super duper excited...

I can just picture Sneer's face the first time he sets foot on Ibiza, what fun that would be to see, ha ha.
Prints of Sner will be available soon.

Have an amazing weekend everyone.

Arroway The Rabbit

My head hasn't been super duper happy with the constantly changing weather...today was a rough one.
But between massaging Ella Luna's tootsies, wonderful bunny snuggles, Sex In The City re-runs (a fav)
and quality time with my heat packs! I did manage to finish off a playful watercolour...

"Arroway The Rabbit"

I felt the need to do something extra bright and sweet.
I wouldn't say watercolours are my strong suit...but I do love them and they provide satisfactory play
for achy wrists that need abit of tlc and a break from coloured pencils (which is why my wrist is so sore!).

Prints will be hopping into my shop shortly.

Hope your all off to a wonderful week.

XO A Bunny Snuggling Bijou
