Art Cards At The Framemakers

The Framemaker & Gallery has been carrying and selling my handmade Art Cards for years now
and I am so appreciative for them (dearest Michelle & Anna XO)
not just because the people there are lovely
but because I am honored to have my work in one of North Bay's best stores
that I've been going to for inspiration since I was a kid...
it's so full of beautiful and inspiring art and goodies.

The Framemaker & Gallery is located at 168 Main Street West, downtown North Bay.
So any of you local peeps out there do hop on in, grab a couple of my handmade archival art cards, and meet Anna & Michelle, if you haven't already done so, you'll love them & the shop.
I just brought in a big batch of brand new beautiful cards, there's 25 brand new designs to see
and all of the square ones have been glitterized (if that's not already a word, it should be, ha ha!).

Handmade Art Cards

I made a big batch of art cards recently.  They are a lot of work & a bit hard on the body
with all the bending over for precise cutting & folding & glittering all by hand but it's worth it...
I'll show you the lovely shop where these end up in another post.

(I included a picture of Teela & I on the backs of quite of few as my way of remembering my girl).
Don't forget, you can get art cards in my shop & I am happy to make cards from any of my images,
so if you want an image but don't see it as a card, you just have to ask and I'll gladly make it for ya.

Art Cards at Michelle's FrameMaker & Gallery

So one of my favorite local shops is Michelle's FrameMaker & Gallery.
She has been carrying my handmade art cards since 2007.

I have such fond memories of visiting this Art Shop & Gallery with my Mom as a young kid.
We'd go in regularly to look around...I think my Mom knew it would inspire me.

Michelle carries the most beautiful art prints & other really cool stuff including
being thee best local spot to get any framing done.

I am so honored that Michelle has been carrying my cards for so long and I love it because
when I go in to see her, I am also getting too see one of my very most favourite beautiful souls.

Besides buying from me,
The FrameMakers is currently the only place in town where you can buy my cards.
Do check them out at 168 Main St West in North Bay.

A New Mixed Media In My 'Celebration' Series

This little series of mine was started from something as simple as having a craving to paint with acrylic paint on illustration board. Than it seemed natural that the designs were well suited for birthday cards etc but I didn't want to pigeon hole these birdies of mine, they seemed more life lesson-y/life celebratory to me...hence the name "Celebration" series...

....You can see the first in the series if you click here... ...These two cuties share a message which I think is a good one and that is "You Can Learn More With Two Different Perspectives Than With Just One..."

...Now, don't you think that wording is nicer and more interesting than just a 'Happy Birthday'...I do...

( ...Prints of this new illustration o' mine are in the shop now...)

...I've drawn and just finished colouring in the sweetest little bunny with birdie...I can't wait to show you. Be Well all and thanks so so much for popping in and extra thanks to all of your sweeties who take time to leave me a message/comment, I can't tell you how much they make my day.

New Things At The Gallery...

Did I ever show you all my newest Nubbin? I don't think I ever did...well here she is, my sweet yet serious keeper and care taker of all the oceans starfish "Ellie Ebben Gray", isn't she cool? I brought her into the gallery this week and I am hoping she's adopted into a new home soon.

I also brought in some of my hand stitched felt stars...

...and some of my nubbin bird decorative ornaments....

Here's a shot of the new goods in my gallery section...I brought in tons more cards as well...
....AND also these Nubbin bird versions on stands with funky little twig crowns...
...and now everything has sweet little tags with clear and inviting info etc...even these took me a few hours to do, every little bit of having a handmade indie business takes time I suppose...
I was thinking of making new batches of all these items and putting them into my etsy shop, what do you think?

My New Art Card Nook

So, I've had this little corner planned out in my head for awhile now. This little corner is just as you come down the stairs from our main entrance and just before you go through the door into my main studio. This weekend my sweetheart got busy and created this for little itty bitty moi...

We decided to leave the shelves the natural pine to tie in with the other pine features in our home....and yes those are clouds and sky and little ladybugs I painted onto part of our ceiling a couple years ago (as per Jonathan request believe it or not, ha ha...)

...and voila...a perfect and beautiful little nook just for my art cards, hooray...I am so excited to see what was in my head finally come to life and work so perfectly...thanks Jonathan XXOO....

And with that I've shared another little corner of my enchanted little world, thanks for tuning in and join me tomorrow for new inspirations, aspirations, illustrations and creations.

Playing Catch Up, A New Store and A Wonderful Gift

Hi Everyone. Sorry I missed posting yesterday. Wednesday was full of gloom and rain on the outside of the house, but inside I battled the constant headaches with a full belly of Tylenol! some rabbit snuggles, lots of painting and some Poncho Sanchez albums...over all a really good day. I just didn't seem to find the time to blog yesterday and again I was surprised at how much I missed it.

Blogging has begun to open up a more abundant world for me, it really has and I am so happy about that. I've been able to get in touch with people and feel a connection with so many wonderful bloggers out there and I feel really grateful for that. Marisa, over at Creative Thursday sent me a very sweet note which was very encouraging and positive and I just so appreciated that response Marisa, thanks so much.

I am still not happy with my blog readership however, the numbers are too low for my liking, but I will keep at it, and take further steps to ensure that my readership grows...with that being said, back links are always appreciated, you can request them of me also, and please do pass my URL around if you truly enjoy what I am doing here.

I had a really busy day today outside of the studio, running abunch of errands, so I didn't get much painting done. I fear alot of paperwork, planning, organizing and scheduling is on my agenda for the next couple of weeks, I've been abit tardy and lazy with such things so I guess I really can't complain that it's come about again, it always does and it always will and I do actually enjoy the administrative part of being an artist/illustrator...most of the time anyways!

So just a couple other things for today...

A small selection of my art cards have been picked up by "The Little Shop" art shoppe. Located at 150 Main Street East in North Bay, Ontario Canada. You can browse the gallery or email any questions about the shoppe to the lovely people here. They also carry a small selection of my glass-mounted prints. Thanks for giving me a link on the site guys, that is fantastic.

I was utterly gleeful yesterday when I opened up the front door and a big package flopped down onto my feet. It was a package from Akita, Japan so I knew what it contained...my beautiful new purse that (and yes, yes I know I am super spoiled!) my Jonathan surprised me with. He knew I was looking for a new bag and this one seems to fit me perfectly, I am so in love with it.

We found it on our beloved Etsy of course. It is handmade in Japan and made of Kimono fabric. I am really really pleased with the craftsmanship, it is so beautifully put together and sturdy. There is a beautiful orange/reddish pattern on the inside also. It is made by Naomi Tagooka, from Tago Design & Crafts. Thanks Jonathan, again...and thanks Naomi, I just adore it and feel proud and excited to sling it over my shoulder whenever I go out.

Well that is about all for now. I should be able to show you a new painting tomorrow. Until then, Be Well and Happy Creating.

Custom Boxsets Available

Good Afternoon All. I think I only got 2 hours of sleep last night so I let myself sleep in this morning knowing if I didn't, I'd be completely useless and aimless all day. I get what I call 'The Nighttime Natters"...when my brain, my heart, my creative spirit is just talking to me all at once, about 10 different projects at once and I get so excited that I just can't sleep. However instead of getting up and getting to work, my stubborn side pokes its head about and says 'no stay in bed, you'll fall asleep soon and you'll be better rested to start fresh on all those things tomorrow..." Never happens that way though because soon after the nattering begins, I start to worry at the same time....did I send that email, why isn't that supplier getting back to me, should I get a new printer, when will my check come, sure that's a nice ideal but will it make money, when will I find the time to do that, etc etc...aha see everyone, creative people don't have it super easy, we have our stresses too.

Today I must get some cards prepped and sent away to a charity auction fast approaching. I must get some painting done. Linears finished off and emailed. And a painting ready for delivery to it's new home.

I thought I should mention at this point that I do offer custom box sets. Each of my box sets comes with 4 designs (12 cards and 12 colour envelopes)...you can choose which four designs you want in the box. There is no extra charge for the custom boxes, just allow me a few more days to make them. If you want the box to be sent to a friend or family member, I can do so also. For imagery to select from just go to my website. Soon, on the new website there will be a lovely section just for the art cards, I can't wait.

I thought I would add this older photo...I like to do little local art markets once in awhile, espeacially at Christmas time. I always enjoy meeting new people and also hanging out with all of the other vendors/artists. I always end up trading with half of the people, which is great fun.

My awesome lentil soup has been consumed, my blog updated, my recent audio book of Henry James "Portrait of a Lady" finished off, the bunnies snuggled...now, with a slight headache, I can get back to work.

I hope you are all well and until tomorrow...when I'll be posting this week's mini-stamps....Be Well and Creative.
