Florin Blue In Progress...

Guys...look...Florin Blue is looking really pretty so far...
(Is it bad or cheesy when as artist says that?  hmmm I don't think so really,
we've got to like our own work after all because if we don't how can we expect anyone too right!?)

Anyhow, you know that excited feeling you get in the middle of a new piece,
that "This Is Going To Be One Of My Best One Yet..." feelings?...

I've got that feeling with this one & usually with that feeling I move slowly so I don't mess up
but with this one, I am so anxious to see how it turn out & if I was right, it's speeding right along.
(Well okay okay...speeding along as quickly as colored pencils allows anyhow ha ha!)

Cute Overload

What can be considered a super duper sweet part of ones day???

Sharing my banana, apple, mango, cashew, orange smoothie with our little foodie.
Ahhhh...she's such a sweetie pie...the apple of my eye, ha ha.

I am so glad my honey thought to capture our sharing.
And, I am pretty sure Yuuji enjoyed cleaning off Teela's head afterwards, ha ha.

We've been enjoying these sunny fall days with lots of time outside with the buns, hope you are too.

SomeBunny's Watching

We have a secret little ramp behind our living room couch
so that the rabbits can watch the world pass by through their very own window.

It sure does do the heart good to come home and to pull into the driveway
to see one of our babes precious faces there in the window waiting for us.

Winters RoundUp

One might think that it's  a wee late to be doing a post with winter as its theme,
but we have had snow around these parts right up until this past Thursday!
And well, I couldn't pass up showing you our favorite photos
of the buns frolicking & exploring in the snow.

The newbies, Teela, Flynn, Yuuji and Frenwyck, especially had fun exploring their new yard areas.

Flynn was a stray so we were not sure if he would like it outside,
since being a house rabbit struggling to survive outside couldn't have been easy for him.
He was leery at first but he started having fun once he realized he was going back into the house.

Teela was scared to complete stillness her first two times out
and we were not going to force her, if she didn't like it outside than that was her decision
but on the third gentle try something clicked and she realized she was safe and
soon enough she was more adventurous than the boys.
I was so very proud of my beautiful girlie.

Frenwyck the Magnificent loved it outside right away.
He has such and amazing and beautiful fur
and it blows in the wind in a way that just makes your heart softly go ''ahhhh".
He is a spaz in the house & is even more so outside, as you can see from these shots, ha ha.

Yuuji seemed comfortable out there straight away as well
but it takes him abit of time to check things out before he's willing to let loose and play.
Mostly he just wanted to nibble on everything that he could fit into his little mouth.
He's not even a year old yet, it's so fun to watch him experience new things, he's such a sweetie.

Jinny and Jaks enjoy the fresh crisp air of winter and they like to eat the snow.
I think being older buns now, they prefer short outings
and then it's back to the warmth of the house and to their sunny window bench they happily go.

Spending time outside with rabbits, be it in the winter, spring, summer or fall,
feels like home to my whole heart.
It soothes me and fills me up like nothing else can.
I am honored that these babies found their way to us.
I have absolutely no doubts that the universe guided them to us and us to them.

And thanks to my bunny honey who is as obsessed with taking photos of our furry kids as I am.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the buns in action?
Aren't they just so beautiful and awesome,
But you know me, I could talk about the rabbits all day long and probably late into the night too.

The newbies have all settled in beautifully.
Yuuji and Teela are now bonded which is spectacular.
Everyone is currently in good health which we are SO thankful for.

Life is bunniful and beautiful...

Now enough with winter and onto summer, wohoo.

Best Laid Plans

Well I've been thinking about refreshing my blog,
but truth is, for the most part, I still really like the way it's looking & the way it's laid out.
I don't want to touch the header right now either, even though it's been there for 5 years, it's still 'me'.
But I did think of doing some new blog buttons to streamline my sidebar...
and I got this far...

But than I had to stop myself & be brutally honest & admit that they just don't work.
Ugh, Ugh Ugh!
When I placed them on my blog's sidebar, they were too cluttered & the font didn't read well at all.
I hate wasting time like this...
but this happens way more often then one might think!
Oh well, hopefully I can find another place to use them.
Back to the drawing board I go!!!

Play Lightly

Wow, a brand new year of blogging ahead of me once again.  Exciting.

I think it's a good idea to start things off with a brand new illustration.

This one is called "Play Lightly" and is pretty much all Prismacolour on paper.

It's been a long & very cold winter so a dose of colour & summer-time dreaming is in order I think.

I have much to share with you.  I really hope you will join me often over this new year.

I promise, as always, to share the best & most positive of my unique self, here on my beloved blog.

Cabbriel

Whiles the golden sun set in my upstairs studio
and with a honeyed blueberry tea and sweet bunnies napped near my feet,
I finished up this new little painting.

Here's how he came about...

Do you want to help me name him???
Ideas anyone??? just put your suggestions in the comments section.

........
P.S.  Well just a few names were suggested...Moon Glow, Clover, Aussie, Aurora...
But I like the name my friend Aline suggested 'Cabbriel'...so I'll go with that, it suits him I think.

Prints of 'Cabbriel'  will be available in my Etsy shop soon.

An Enchanted Garden

So when last in the big city, we made a fantastic discovery.
It was an enchanted Garden full of sweet surprises...

Such as vultures perched high above our heads...

...ready to welcome in all who were willing to leave the heaviness of the adult world behind...

...a walking stick stopped to say 'how do ya do?'...

...A turtle shuffled out to ask us if we needed directions,
he instructed us to just follow our care-free hearts and let whimsy be our compass...

...It was a quiet place where shy snails wanted to talk about the weather...

....and where you were invited to tea with a tortoise and a berry picking bear...

...where long secret pathways amongst tall and towering grasses lead you to smiling snails...

...Where on top of a sweet little hill you spot a wooden gazebo and what looks like
a wonderfully secretive spot that your feather light heart craves to leads you next...

...but where on your way you meet one of the happiest of rabbits who invites you to spread your smile
and of course to frolic and play...

...and who requests a shy peck adieu before your off on your way...

...It was a place where that secret spot we glanced upon the smiling snail hilltop was finally found...
And what wonderful energy the place held...
you could feel magic sparkle and shimmer all around you...

...It was where I met a fellow book lover who read me a story so fantastic I dare not even try to repeat it
for it's something you have to hear on your own...

...I was very reluctant to leave, but the storyteller promised he'll be there ready with another grand story whenever I am able to visit again next...

...This was a magical garden which seemed to even enchant grown up boys...

...It was a most wonderful place for hearts that like to believe in magic...

...For souls who believe in the beauty of their dreams...

It was a place that reminded one that the most ordinary of days can suddenly
be turned into the most splendorous soul drenching moments.
That moments of pure unexpected blissful delight can tingle your soul,
if only you'll let your heart be light & open your eyes to enchanted magic...

Thanks for hopping in this week everyone...have a great weekend and see you all on Monday.
